Seriously. Ran into a HUGE widow in my water pump house tonight. Hmm. Only thing immediately available, a can of brake kleen. What the hell. DAYUUM. Worked great.. Ms Widow just kind of collapsed upon herself, ooze coming out everywhere.. Best damn Black Widow killer ever.

Cool. Living in "black widow" central, I will have to remember that. My personal killing record: 13 black widows dead in one day. Only problem, I saw 14. Picked up a board, turning it over as I lifted, saw the fat ******, threw the board back down, saw the ****** being launched into the air as the board catapulted her shinny ***, I bolted, never saw her land. hmmm. Felt that damn thing crawling on me for days. Heebee-Geebees.

Man when I read both your posts, it made me glad we have winter here....spiders don't survive or like the cold....still your posts gave me the willy's  ....something small that can crawl on you & kill you....nice....I think I'm suffering flash backs from dealing with lovely black scorpions from my days in Mexico.... :dribble: ....thanks guys....

Cheers :D

Okay THUG,

Now you've got ta show a piccie of some MANLY Australian spider that YOU have killed...

Come on - lets have it now. B) :D

Oh yeah, and identify the spider AND show the implement used to kill it. Also if it was a MANLY spider, it probably took a while to wrestle it to the ground, so we'd like to know time elapsed from first strike to death gasp... :D :D

Not that I'd go out of my way to test it, but most adults would survive a bite. Black widows have their reputation built on the fact that they happen to live where a lot of humans live, so they've laid in to a lot of people.

I don't know if we have black widows here in the Northwest, but I do remember quite a few in Virginia. Up here we have Hobo spiders, which are similar to a brown recluse. Two of my coworkers have been bitten, and while it doesn't kill, you do appear lose a 1-2" diameter chunk of skin that dies and sloughs off. My officemate took his bite on the forehead, so he got to go see some cosmetic surgeons to fix his missing bits...

That was funny WFJR :D

Pics to follow! ;)

How about a broom or a size 11 boot on the head?

Actually the Black Widow sounds like our Red Back spider which has killed in the past but very rare...normally hurts a bit na a lot. We have a real bad ******* called the Funnel Web and it will kill children no worries and has killed adults but generally makes one seriously sick they are really nasty little fuckers.

I try not to kill spiders per sae but if I'm not sure what they are they go to spider heaven very smartly.

Cheers

I heard a story of a poor guy who was at the local ER due to a black widow bite to a rather sensitive part of the body. The bite occured during a visit to a porta potty, ouch!

Saying that, I'd take my chances with a black widow way before something like a funnel web spider. Aussies have some mean insects for sure. :D

<shudder>

Correct me if I'm wrong, Thug, but ain't ya'll got more poisonous **** than any other place on the planet?

I got bit by a brown recluse once. Left a hole in my back that you could sink a cigarette butt in.

I live in the NorthEast and we have a pretty good winter here. We also have lots of spiders. They do seem to either hide or move indoors in the cold. We have the ocasional black widdow, but the brown recluse is more common of the nasty ones. I'm glad we don't have the nasty critters that you Aussies have.

These are not poisonous but they will chase you. I ran into a few of these in the middle east.

Scab,

Is that why your sig line says BITE ME? :D

AND why your screen name is SCAB B)

-just curious- :D
In truth, 'bite me' is my wife's favorite reply to some of my ******* remarks. And a friend gave me the name 'scab'. I have no idea why. He was drinking at the time. What a guy, no?

And dayum, rottie. Just the picture of that thing gives me the willys. Forget the bug spray, I'd have to cap that thing.

And TWN, I must say that you can type the best accents I do believe I've ever read. Quite a skill, really.

Yep, the big one of the block is the Brown Recluse.........now that will put a serious hurtin on you.

The will be taking skin from your love handles to fill the holes it leaves.

<_<

I ******* hate ******* spiders. They are really fascinating creatures, that die if they are seen by me.

The only ones that are safe are the big black and yellow-green garden spiders. The only reason is they advertise they're there.

When we were shopping for our first house, this really cute house was on the edge of a green space here in the city and had been empty for 6 months. When we were looking at it the first thing I noticed was a wolf spider the size of your hand (no ****) on the garage wall. Going through the house, I saw at least 8 more of those fuckers that size in cabinets and legs sticking out under baseboards that scurried away as you passed.

My skin crawled for days. My youngest was a year old at the time and all I could think of was coming in and seeing her crib covered in a cocoon of spider webs.

******* spiders. I ******* hate spiders.
