Last minute but...

Last minute call from a couple of friends and seems like we all have several hours to spend tomorrow. Can anyone recommend a nice route(s) in the western Connecticut area, maybe east / northeast of Ridgefield without going much further north of 84? We've usually ventured west around the Taconic but thought we'd try going east instead. Relaxed ride, might even be two-up.

Sorry B.O. but I just saw this. A nice 2 up ride might be straight up RT 7 (it is north of 84, tho). You can stop at Kent for some yuppie lunch, go slightly farther to Kent Falls & picnic or keep going to West Cornwall (covered bridge) and have lunch there.

You could keep going all the way up 7 to the Lime Rock area or take some of the side roads off 7 & head east towards Litchfield (more yuppie food there). Rt 109 is right off rt 67 (which is off 7 in New Milford), RT 45 is a little further north of New Milford and rt 351 heads east from Kent. They all interconnect with some nice backroads.

I ride those roads almost every weekend.

Thanks for the suggestions, going to keep them for the future. Took 7 up and around Lime Rock earlier in the year and enjoyed it. Started out towards Litchfield last weekend but, one thing led to another, and didn't quite make it up there. Did take the Merritt to Black Rock Tpke. and into Bethel. Had the intention of angling towards either 47 or 199 into 109 (maybe using 202 on the return) but a big breakfast, coupled with a late start, had its influence. Thanks again though for the reply.
