Try FNFAST or FNQUIK ... just don't let your Momma see it ...

NO HOGS should get some results

I get in the 40s but haven't check the mileage for a while.

Cheers

30 mpg doesn't sound right. During the breakin period I got 50 mpg. It went down as the engine broke in and my wrist got stronger. Now I average a little under 40.

Regarding license plates, I prefer to not use one that is easily recognized and remembered so I just take the default when the motor vehicles folks hand them out. Besides, I'm too frugal to pay extra for a custom plate. I remember someone at EOM a couple years ago who had a combination of 0's O's 1's and I's. You could never read that one correctly as it went past at speed.

i have an 07 AE that i got back last august. i started out in the mid 40's but now that i have gotten a LOT more comfortable with it, i'm down in the mid 30's

what can i say , i really love that power surge with a heavy throttle hand ;)

as far as the license plate i'm with Geezer on that

How are you figuring your mileage - via computer, or actually doing the math when you refill your tank?

The bike computer will get you in the neighborhood, but there's error, when compared to actual. In any event, your mileage sounds terrible. You should be getting high 30's to mid 40's, depending on how you ride. Check your mileage again, and if it's really only 30mpg, better have it checked.

7 letters on a tag... FJR1300

If I had a black one I'd want STEALTH on my plate.

30 sounds too low BTW, even when I'm abusing my right wrist, I never get below 35. Normal range is 39-42 for me under normal commuting conditions.

I'm going to be the killjoy here. When I got a set of Alex's reflective stickers, I opted to get the plain ones for the same reason I did not get personalized tags (around here they are called vanity plates :D )....I don't want to give some idiot a reason to pull close behind me trying to read my plates or see what my side bags had written on them. I have caught myself unconsiousy doing that very same thing and figured, I could skip it.

Hey, there has to be one in every crowd. ;)

It is interesting that you are having problems with your fuel gage. My riding buddy who has an 08 too had the same problem. So the dealer took off the tank and replace a sensor, actually they replaced the whole tank. It was the sensor that connects to the fuel tank. Now it is as accurate as mine. 40-45MPG's

Sounds like a definite problem with fuel economy. I know it seams too obvious, but you said you've had cold weather: Have you checked tire pressure?

As far as personalized plates go, if you have to worry about a LEO reading your plates, you probably have bigger problems than what they say :glare:

No suggestions, though (I'm not that creative).
