Great to hear you are back on the bike. Take it slow and don't be in too much of a hurry. Hopefully we will see you on tech day.

Love that gun metal grey!

Love that color would have been my choice.......................if a clutch lever came with it.

BR, sorry we didn't get to meet up when I was there this year, so go back to work on the healing, I'll need you to show me the good roads next year.

Yep, highway pegs. Not sure how I will like them yet so they haven't earned a spot on the permanent list. To put your feet on them causes your leg to rub awkwardly on the side vents. Haven't tested them when my legs need a new position yet, so might love them then. I expect they will be in the up position 96% of the time.
They need to be about an inch longer to avoid the legs hitting the fairing. Those look great, but are too short. Ideally, the pegs need to be longer with the pivot point in the same spot. Less ideal, an extension with the pivot point farther out. Most HD shops will have the latter. It puts the folded peg farther out, but is generally ok when folded up.

I find that I need to fold my highway pegs up for fast sweepers at highway speed if they are marked 50 or under. (I'm going 75+)

edit - Duh! Great to hear you are back on the bike and getting ready for both of you to return to riding and enjoying the new toy. Looks awesome! Still some good weather days hiding out there before the PacNorWet lives up to it's name.

BReamer,

EXTREMELY inspirational, to follow this from the initial crash report to this! WOW!

Looks Great! I'm glad to hear you are back up and riding. I have an 07AE and it looks a lot like yours (with the farkles - I know the bikes will look the same). Wow! Your bike looks great! Can you tell me where you got the trunk and its mounting plate? Jill wants to go 2 up with me (to be specific - 2 up more often) but would like a trunk/backrest before she does. I can understand that. I have been looking for the "right one". Yours fits that description exactly. If you can tell me the source, both she and I will be happier touring. Thanks!

I was turned on to that trunk and plate by riding with my friend Auburnfjr. It is a complete Yamaha setup that comes in three pieces that need to be purchased separately. They consist of the mounting plate, trunk, and the backpad. However, Yamaha asks for outrageous prices and the three of those total to at or very nearly at $1000. Yeah I know. 3 zeros. I found mine used on the forum and gave $350 for the complete set and then had it painted to match. I came out way ahead. I have seen another come available since, just need to keep you eyes open or post a wanted ad.

Thanks for the heads up. It looks great. I'll keep my eyes open for one. Thanks again!

Mine is the same color. I like it, but to be honest I got it because it was a good deal at a good time. Your bike looks great, and if you decide you don't like the highway pegs, I got dibs. :D Great find on the trunk too. And since I read your crash report, I am glad to see you are on the mend in just about every way. Have fun on your new one, just not as much fun as your old one, OK?
