I used a helper. Get all your rings lined up on the piston then pinch each one as someone else gradually lowers the cylinder down. You will need to block the piston at TDC with a block of wood. Cannot use a compressor AFAIK because the piston is already connected to the rod and slides in from the bottom (no way to get the tool out).

I think I'll give this a try. Gotta give my step son a call. Thanks for all the tips!

 
Well, finally got around to reassembling the motor. Wasn't too bad getting the piston back in the bore at all. Started up on the 3rd kick! Now I need to get the jetting sorted out for the 86mm overbore. Too bad the weather will probably suck till spring!
