All,

kjc625, a fellow member, has asked me to post this regional ride for April 21st, 2007.

This is the annual Municipal Motorcycle Officers of California competition.

Here's the web site: MMOC

Jim (kjc625) (and probably I, assuming that I'm able to after my B2BI the previous weekend) will be riding up to Pacific Grove very early on Saturday, April 21st for the competition.

There are some videos on the web site that are a demonstration of incredible capability on a motorcycle.

Personally, if I tried some of this stuff, I'd be replacing plastic faster than they could paint it.

As the time draws closer, Jim and I will finalize the TOD and such - he lives up in the Santa Clarita area, so it would probably be a VERY early departure from the orange county area - or maybe even a late Friday night departure.

Pacific Grove shows a mere 364 miles from my home in Orange, California - so an early morning ride up, spend the day there, then back on Saturday night/Sunday morning? Pacific Grove is right on Monterey Bay - just a wee bit up the coast from Pebble Beach.

Some of you may wish to ride up on Friday, and if you do, I would suggest you book a room ASAP. Jim and I are not going to be putting together any kind of group rate, or any thing organized like that - so you're on your own for lodging.

Or, we could just all show up at Twowheelnut's house in Santa Babs and camp out there. Think his wife would notice? :D

Sounds interesting. Depending on the finalized details I may be able to attend :yahoo:

Well, I will be riding with Kaitsdad either on Friday or Saturday.

The competition starts early in the morning. First come first service. It is annual competition. Best in the western part of the country.

Hope lots of you will make the ride. For those looking to stay overnight. Call now for reservation. Small town with alots of fun.

Gents,

Jim called me last night -

As of right now, he doesn't have the day off - seems they need him out there fighting the bad guys. And he does fight them !!

However - he is working to get the day off in order to do this trip, so we won't know until later if it's going to happen.

Jdog, way cool - will keep you in the loop.

Skyway - I'll let Jim tell you about his bike - but as of two weeks ago it's still stock, however work is happening on the crash bars, etc., perhaps he can tell us about that stuff.

Well, I finally got an appoint to drop off my enforcer with the famous ROCK and ROLL Custom Paint shop in Orange. I will drop the bike off on 4/10/07 and will pick it up 10 days later. They showed me several designs and I decided to stick with CHP / LAPD style. Every thing black except the front headlight housing, White strip on the gas tank and white stripes on the side plastics. They are working on the Honda ST1300 P crash bar to fit with my bike. The total cost for the paint job is $1500 and more for the crash bar. I have several buddies to wait to rent the bike for their jobs.

I am still working with my boss to get the days off. We are so short handed. Any one wants to apply for LAPD? I will sponsor you. :yahoo:

So how many people are going for this trip?

This is one of best RODEO in western states.

Where is everyone planning on meeting up? My plans are to ride up Sat morning and head home in the evening. Short jaunt for me. B)

Not sure where to meet?

I am planning to ride early Saturday morning like 3AM and arrive by 8AM with frequent stops  for restroom breaks and come back on same day.

I will be riding new ENFORCER. I dropped old Enforce at the Rock and Roll Custom paint in Orange today. They provided several designes and chose basic black and white style. I requested my ex partners' names to be painted on the side fairings to honor them. Officer Navidad and Officer Lizarraga were killed on line of duty and I wanted to honor them as heroes and friends forever. I will pick up "ENFORCER" on 04/19/06 and detail it for the ride.

:yahoo: This bike will the first FJR1300A police bike in United States. All the lights and siren will be installed after the ride. The crash bars won't be ready for next several weeks. I still need to work with the Thunder Works in San Diego to build the crashbars for me. ST1300 bars did not work. The dimesions of the bars are so different from the FJR1300A.

I will post the pictures and videos of the ride with the help of Kaitsdad. He is my primary FJR instructor. :D

I am still working on getting 04/20 off for the ride.

So keep praying for me.

By the way, I rode the ST1300P and it is one heavy bitch. Very top heavy. However it is still better than good old Harley. I heard a rumor that my agency will consider Honda or BMW for next contract. Harley is not keeping good services with us and our mechanics are not happy with Harley at all.

So Yamaha! where the hell are our FJR police bikes for US? Are you listening? You are lossing all the potential customers.

Jim :p

Guess what, Moreno valley police department already had their FJR1300A police bike in service. Okay, mine will 2nd bike in the nation.

I am still working on getting the Friday off.

Anyone else going to the rodeo?

Jim

I'm considering it real heavily. I would, however, need to arrange to get the day off, which would be more desirable if I can get Eve's cop cousin and ex-motor officer to go along on his new GS.

Curt's a great (but very busy) guy! He's now a Sargent in the homicide division, and Fresno's rate is up 20% from last year. They work 12/7 shifts around the clock until they get their suspects. Good for the taxpayers, but a tough schedule for the cops.

Ok it is official. I got the Friday off. So Kaitsdad and I will leave on Friday. I will call him to confirm the ride and stay for Friday night. We will probably take 101FWY for the ride. Anyone else going with us from Socal?
