Maybe we should invest in a deer whistle. Saw one one a feejer I rode with last weekend "tinker". Says it is suposse to work. I am going to get one. Have had close calls in Montana a couple of years ago, also in Wyoming this year.

I've heard about guys skidding and losing control of the rear wheel on the bloody mess the front wheel makes. If you can avoid them, do it. As for the moose v CB750 shootout, it had to be a headshot or else the CB'er would be the one getting scraped up and carted away. People get killed in frakkin cars running into elk.

They don't work.

For Bike Effects-I didn't see the rest of the flock, but I kept the poor devil's staff for a souvenir.

The standard advice for years has been that if the critter is small enough to be eaten in one meal, run over it.

I don't think that applies to armadillos, does it? :cownoy:

In a pick up it is alot like hitting a cinder block. Takes a semi to squash one and they don't always get the job done.

I don't think I'm ready to try one out on (under) the bike.

On the other hand, Pepe Le Pue is toast if the chance arises.

I hit an already dead critter once, not sure but I think a big possum. Not a skunk. It didn't cause me any issues with control of the bike but I got to work with blood spots on my shoes and pants legs. Still, I'd rather hit the thing than crash while trying to avoid it.
