The biggest club championship in the world, United played Chelsea in the final in Moscow.

At the end of the game it was 1-1. As the rules dictate, they then played an extra half hour, there was no further score so the game went onto a penalty shoot-out. United won 6-5.

It was the first all English final in the history of the competition. The third time United have won it I remember vividly watching the first time as a kid back in 1968.

Penalties is a cruel way to lose, but to be fair United had the best of the game and deserved to win.

I went past Old Trafford today, (United's ground). The streets were full of people carrying bags of merchandise they had bought from the shop at the ground. Incredible how a big event has such an effect on people.

70,000 fans travelled to Moscow to watch.

So, when the favored team wins, the fans BUY from the shops? The breaking windows, looting and trashing the buses and trains is only when they lose?

Was the atmosphere better than a regular weekend game? It sounds that way.

Congratulations to your Red Devils, Once Chelski knocked out Liverpool I had to pull for United.

I don't know if they showed it on your video feed, but I did see Gary Neville consoling John Terry and Frank Lampard.Top Class especially after he has lost his season to injury

The fans were buying from the Old Trafford shop in their droves, before the game had been played.

The atmosphere was incredible. Every other car you see has a red United banner or flag on it yesterday. People were milling around everywhere last evening in United shirts, I assume on their way to various pubs to watch the game. There were fireworks going off all over after the game and we could hear chanting and singing in the town about a mile away.

As I write I am watching the morning news. Lots of footage coming from Manchester airport as the fans arrive home. Nothing so far on any trouble. They were all warned in advance that Russian prisons are some of the worst in the world.

After the Rangers game held at the Manchester City stadium last week there was a major problem and the trouble made the news the next day. Particularly a security camera video of a police officer cornered and kicked to the ground by a huge crowd. He was hauled out by one of the fans and dragged to a waiting police van. The cop was just bruised and came on the news the next day to thank the guy and ask who he was. As if he would give his name!! hehe

I didn't spot that, Terry John was inconsolable. During the game he headed a United shot off the line which would have been United's second goal and possibly the winner. He then missed his penalty after slipping as he took it. He cried openly for about 10 minutes when they lost.

Interestingly Christano Ronaldo, dubbed the best player in the world, scored United's only goal, then missed his own penalty. He is usually the teams penalty taker during a match.

Agreed. I'm not a sports fan by any stretch of the imagination but I got sucked into watching this game, with Andy and Martin. I was on the edge of my seat during the penalty kicks, even though I knew the outcome. It was cool to see Sir Bobby Charlton leading the team to get the trophy.
