Any blood sucking leaches..uh I mean lawyers on this forum? :D How about a breach of contract (failure to deliver in a timely maner. Time of the essence) lawsuit? I am sure there are plenty of plaintifs who are willing to file a motion. I know when I plopped my $500 down. time was sure of the essence! A $100 a day deduduction off the bike for every day past April 1 would work for me.
Unless it is buried somewhere deep in the fine print, or unless you specified in your "contract" with Yamaha vis-a-vis the PDP, there is no penalty or relief clause stipulating any timely performance, you're out of luck. Do you think they could have required you to pay $100 more per week or day if they were early?

Well as a "Waiter-Baiter", I hate to say "I told you" but, ...   :haha:   :haha:   :haha:
Not being quite as, er, gentlemanly as my friend Rogue, Bwaaaaaahaaaaahaaaa! :rolf: :haha:

I told you so!

Bwaaaaahaaaaaahaaaaahaaaa!!!!! :haha:

Did you purposely not read my other posts when I said that I had to take my vacation using the Concours, as the '04 FJR didn't come in as promised? :dribble: And I'm not the only one....and sheesh, you guys have a short wait! What the heck would you have been like during the summer of '03 when the first shipments had not arrived. They didn't even have FJRs to look at, read about, learn about from other owners (Okay, Joos' site from Europe was very helpful, but not the same as having "local" owners)...nada, zip, zilch, nyet, uh-uh, nothing. I ordered my '04 in Feb. and got it in Aug...and was happy and have not looked back. Now, breathe! Inhale slowly...hold it...exhale slowly. Don't speak! Take another breath...hold it...exhale slowly. Repeat 4 more times.

Just what kind of cheese would you like? Some Brie, cheddar, swiss, smoked Gouda? As strong as your whine is, perhaps some Limburger!

All of us who have been down this road have been good-naturedly trying to get you to lighten up. Did you listen? NOOOOOOO! Gee whiz, I almost felt bad about predicting April 1 (You fools!). :bleh: Now they are targeting April 10....oh shucks, darn, drat, fap, heck and pshaw! And a lawsuit? You've got to be joking....My God, its fun waiter baiting! You guys have made my evening...:lmao:

Bwaaaahaaahaaaahaaa :D :haha:  ;) Get a grip! Those who complain the loudest will be amongst those who procalim what a great bike their FJR is, trust us, we've BTDT and read other's posts.

Until then, We told you so!
Mike, I'm not one to think we need to take legal action, and I'm not one to get set up for unrealistic expectations. But I certainly sypathize with anyone who put down a $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit six months in advance - under the guise that it is then only way to buy this motorcycle (meaning no "legitimate" dealer inventory of the bike).

I believe that people who were told they would get March delivery have every right to complain. Yamaha has set themselves up for criticism via the whole process they have imlemented for buying an FJR. Sure, we'll all be happy six months from now, but no harm in allowing us to vent our frustrations now (not that I am in that group - YET!).

Great ride in today on the Feej; light traffic, smokin' curves; this bike is amazing... OH WAIT, I thought I was in the ride reports section... this thread is about waiting? :haha:

I waited from April '04 to November '04... watched the prime riding season slip by... bikeless. As MM2 has said... 30 minutes on the bike will cure all the pain. ;)

Its all good. I was originally told MAY, so if it does arrive in APRIL its still good news to me. Gives me a bit more time to locate some more farkles.

Patience is a virtue.

I,m sure that I,ll be odd man out here but, I need the extra time to get my old bikes sold ,so I,m kinda glad. bete.

Thank you for the update Tony. I don't see any need to get bent out of shape about this. What is a few more weeks after 6 months? As all present owners have said, It will be worth the wait. There is nothing we waiters can do about it, so keep dreaming of the day we get our first ride!

I need a few more days to finish some agricultural related software that I am writing. I told my wife last week that I hope the FJR does not come in for another week or so because I don't need to take a day going to pick it up, getting a little riding time in, then washing it, then waxing it, then deciding what accessory to install first...

The more I think about it, this bike thing could run over into the next day, and the next, and... I might not be able to afford to own this bike because it could take up too much of my time. I might not be able to find time for work.

Like Bete, I too might need a little more time.

Question is, once the bike shows up at the dealer, how long do I have to pick it up and pay the balance (after my $500 deposit), before Yamaha or the dealer cancels my deal?

I was told possible April in the begining, but WAAAAAAAAAAAA. PM. <><

Whooooo !! This is weird

I read these same posts in March every year since I (and other waiters of the '03) plonked their cash down in Feb '02.

We all waited from Feb until they started to trickle in July through Sept.

Nearly a 7 month wait for some of us

I really sympathise with you guys

NOT!! :p

Oh yes.

Then we had a small rash of crashes (we know who we are ;) ) then had to wait all over again as spare parts for the FJR had not arrived at dealerships at that time

Yup -- those early silver ones fell over a lot -- something to do with the soft, heavy paint!!

OK -- I'm done :D

No I'm not :D

waiting is still waiting though, no matter who or what year.

Hang tight ya'll, everything "good" is worth the wait.

And next March you can all sympathise with a new batch of waiters.

NOW -- I'm done, and awaiting incoming flack.

I am sure Tony is passing on the best information he has but what are the other dealers telling their customers?

Chances are that 90% of the owners aren't saying doodley squat... we have it REAL good here, between Sunnyside, D&H, and having Tony giving us the word straight from Yammys mouth. Thanks for keeping us all up to date Tony!

If it makes you feel any better, my bike was to be delivered in June of '04.  It arrived the last week of August.  So happy waiting and wanking!  We'll send the Waaaaaaa-mbulance.

Last week of August, '04? Hmmm, mine was promised mid-Sept., delivered mid-Sept., right down the middle. In So. Cal.

Your batch musta been put on the slow boat  .

But in Rogdeb's defense, he's Liverpudlian and doesn't know about the "edit" function. :p

This is all too familiar and reminds me of the saying they have on the wall at Lolita's Taco Shop near my home which reads:

"Patience Is The Essence Of Fine Mexican Food" :haha:
