I'm booked all weekend with gigs, however I'm heading that way tomorrow. I've got til Saturday. Weather appears to be better south than around the peninsula.

I'd like to hit the John Day area... maybe circle around to Crater Lake. I've got the bike loaded with camping gear, too.

This years Maupin gathering is going to be the weekend of 10/9/2010. I have blocked as many rooms as they had left through the 27th of this month. This place is popular and fills up quick so don't wait to long.

I will be there Ray. I have a cabin reserved for Friday and Saturday at the Oasis Resort. Will there be others there on Friday, I hope? The only thing that will keep me away is heavy rain.

It looks like about eight are signed up including two couples. I am not sure who is showing up on Friday or Saturday. I am shooting for Friday but it all depends on dollars. The Imperial has priced itself out of my market so I doubt I will stay there again. I have been looking to the resort/casino on the Warm springs reservation for the next time around. Same riding area but I think we can score a better rate.

If anybody needs road information give me a shout and I will give you the numbers. I am not puter literate enough to post up routes.

Well now I did not know, so I called and it is cabin #6. Only sat. nite, and ditto on the heavy rain stuff.

Ray, we are going to have to cancel. Some family commitments have gotten in the way.

I agree, Imperial has gotten pretty damn expensive. We were talking last year about checking out one of the ranch places that are in the area. I think escapefjrtist and MCRIDER007 had some ideas. But as escapefjrtist said, the summer got away from us and this ride slipped through the cracks.

This is starting to look like a wash, and not weatherwise, which is looking pretty fair for this time of year. At this time I am still a count me in for sat. The weather gods give me 40% chance of getting rained on from here to Cle elum and dry by Ellensburg, same for the return trip Sun. I need an out and I want to look around the Maupin area. If you get a chance ride the road thru the Warm Springs reservation. I think it's called route 3. Bakeoven road to 97 is good and from there you can head for points east. I wish I could pull it off but after losing my ass on a real estate deal things are grim. Have fun.

That makes two of us. Oops my boo boo, went back and counted and it looks like 4 at this time. I will be on the black 08 FJR and will be shooting for early Sat. afternoon if all goes well.

WAS desparately trying to make this work as I look forward to the Maupin Weekend, but alas life stepped in and I won't be able to make it.

Guess it was just not in the cards this fall. Daughters birthday is 10-11 and the only day everyone can get together is Sun. At first I planned on getting home Sun afternoonish but came to the conclusion that was not a smart call, sooo I canceled my res.
