I meant pick up your whole house and move, leaving your friends etc...But I forgot you have two places so must be more used to moving than me. I'm a big baby who hates change.

When I say shooting, I don't mean standing on a line and punching holes in paper. That bores me to death. I was talking USPSA, Steel Challenge, .22 steel matches, Multi-Gun, Sporting Clays and Tactical long range. Mix it all up and it's the most fun you can have with your pants on. Oh...And those little white balls do come in handy out there. They can be hard to hit at 250-300 yards with a .308.

Jeeze Jer, I love ya man, but you would pick up and move your entire life for Golf? Seriously?? You have a disease!

Edited to add: You need to take up shooting. It's cheaper and way more fun!! $900/month to chase a white ball around?? Holy Hell...
AJ that is why we are moving, because of the price of golf here. When we first joined it was only $500 per month and for two people playing 4 days a week each that wasn't bad. Now they are asking double that and we decided we won't pay. As far as shooting, I would get bored with that in a hurry.

Oh by the was don't try to get me to move to Albuquerque because I have seen most of it on the TV show breaking bad and another show about people being in protective custody in Albuquerque.

My residence will still be Salem, Oregon, but this area will get us away from the rain. I am not sure what you mean by moving my entire life for golf. This area will give me some great riding in the winter and I will continue to ride out of Oregon in the summer.
Jer, I've been to Albuquerque three times a year since, for ever. It's about as much fun as watching paint dry! Although, running around town sampling the local tequila is real nice! Just Sayin' :) Oh, and playing golf is worse than watching paint dry.. Nuff Said... :))

Why don't we all move to Chandler but don't tell BeemerDons otherwise he will hide his good booze on us.

Mii Canuckistani Amigo Guillermo makes a good point, Arizona is Heaven for a Golfer! Being an Oregonian it'll take you a few years to acclimate to our Summers, but from October through May you couldn't ask for better weather for golfing or an area with such a wide assortment of golfing opportunities!

It all comes down to priorities.

For that same $900/month, a couple could annually do two 2-week transatlantic cruises (one each direction) with a full balcony stateroom, buy two round-trip airline flights to/from Europe; two flights from the left coast to Florida and from FL. Back to CA; and spend ten days in the European city/cities of your choice (hotels, food, and transportation, entertainment).

DAMHIK.

Some folks would want to jump overboard after the second day at sea. Other folks would want to borrow AJ's Glock and end it all on the second fairway.

Different cerebral vascular accidents for different folks....

Stop trying to make sense. It hurts my head!!

I see some of you seem to disapprove on the old game of golf. That is fine with me, but it is something my wife and I enjoy very much and will continue to do as long as we are able. We have met a lot of nice people over the years and had some very good times playing this game. Oh, by the way, we are also NASCAR fans.

Thanks to you locals that stayed on subject. Your information was informative but we will have to travel to the area before a major move will be made. I am certain that it will be at least two years before we live in the Sacramento area.

Once I find your booze stash I won't have any time for golf.

If you promise not to tell anyone, I'll let you in on one of the best-kept secrets on the planet:

https://www.sanclementegc.com/rates/

The World's Best Climate, a beautiful municipal course, cheap rates for residents, and no urban sprawl. And if you want a little variety, there are over a dozen other courses within about 30 minutes.

https://www.pelicanhill.com/golf/

https://www.playocgolf.com/

Not to mention proximity to some excellent riding!

SHHHhhhhhhhh.

If you end up in Sac. I'd be happy to drink your beer, eat the food, throw FJR parties check on you place for wild hooligans while you are up north.

Apparently mia amigo Dono due to your ongoing age, you missed where I will be moving from, the great Coachella Valley. There are over one hundred golf courses in this valley and excellent Winter weather, but blast furnace Summers like you have in Chandler. We would be considering the Sacramento area as our new Winter home and continue to spend Summers in the great Northwet. I do always appreciate your responses. I maybe didn't make this clear earlier.

I would love to live in the your area, but don't think I could afford the housing.

I played in Davis at El Macero Country Club with a former boss. She and her husband hooked it despite living in Sacramento because it was much cheaper. The course is a Troon managed course and is a fun layout.

I think the desert heat is warping peoples brains out there.......$1,000 a MONTH just to play Golf?? I wouldn't pay $1,000 a month to play ANY sport although there's a lot of them I like!

Lotta nice riding roads in Northern Cal.........and less traffic when you get north of Sac.

GL on the move.

THAT'S why Jer wants to move. He was paying close to $500 and is now paying close to $1000. Jer may be rich and retired, but he knows a bum deal when he sees one. Besides, he can golf with his wife, but every time I've seen him, he's riding alone. Makes sense, except it's golf. I think I'd rather clean my toilets!!
