I may be in... thinking of riding to a conference in Georgia and then running up to leave the bike at my brothers in Ontario pre-CFR. A small detour to NH doesn't sound like a bad idea...

Griff

Hmmm.... shortest (AKA most boring) route from Savannah to Conway is 1100-odd miles....

Might just have to leave a bit earlier on Friday :)

Griff

Likely Saturday. At a conference in Savannah until Friday noon (ish).

If that plan changes (ie, get out of town on Thursday), I'll get to Conway on Friday in time for some ales :drinks:

I'll be there . . . booked a room for Friday night at the Colonial Inn . . . then off to visit family in the area Saturday night & Sunday . . . not sure which bike I'm bringing yet . . .

When coming from Rt.2 in Maine just before the NH border, route 113 head south. When the road Vs between 113B and 113, what is the most interesting route to Hurricane Mtn? Stay on 113B to S. Chatham or stay on the 113 and cut accross Stowe Rd at North Fryeburg?

113B through Chatham, NH is a nice little side detour. But don't be tempted to continue straight south from Chatham village on Robbins Hill Rd unless you have some knobbies on your FJR. ;) Just go left on 113B and it hooks back up with 113 in Stow, ME

Yes, this is where Google street view is your friend. Check at both ends of the road. That's what I do to plan routes, but sometimes I still get caught on goat paths.

So, this is happening next weekend already. We will not be able to make it to WH Open House on Saturday this year (family commitments), but if there is good weather and folks will be around to play on Friday I might not feel well enough to go to work. ;)

What are the plans? Going to run that route from last year again Scott?

Yep, a couple of us are leaving New Glasgow early Thursday morning and spending the night in Gorham, Country Inn & Suites. Friday is tour day, same route as last year. We plan to meet a buddy from Ottawa at the pizza joint in St. Johnsbury around 1:00. We will finish the ride together and spend the night in N. Conway at the Colonial Inn. There are a few more folks meting up Friday night. Saturday off to Whitehorse. Where do you want to meet up?

Scott,

Sent you a text. Not sure you got it. Just wanted to let you know that I am a go for tomorrow. See you around Bear notch tomorrow morning!! Gonna be a fine day, ay-up!

Great day to ride - got into the Colonial Inn at about 4. Took off and went riding for another hour. Looping 16 to 2 to 115 to 302 in the morning . . . May peel off at Bear Notch . . . down the Kanc and off the Mount Greylock in NW Mass. You guys can toss a coin for my free hot dog at Whitehorse.

Very eventful day. Started off with a poor bull moose getting nailed in front of the motel. LEO had to pop two into him to finish him off. After leaving the open house we met a very smashed Porsche up on Route 16. Then saw two more moose, a deer and a crazy little racoon that tried to head butt my FJR. Other that that it was a great day
