1911, this is an awesome picture and not saying that just because wheatonFJR isn't in it.
Don't think I didn't notice this Dave. I will see you in July.

I agree with Dave, this is an awesome picture and just a peek into the awesome scenery we viewed during that trip. We were the recipient of great weather...cloudy skies and downdrafts from nearby rainfall kept us cool. The fog Monday morning slowly cleared to a blue sky, green hills and curvy roads.

With all what showed up on the radar Sunday morning when we met at Stax on the north side of Greenville, I thought we were going to be drenched both days. As it turns out, 15 minutes on Sunday evening as we headed into Withville was it.

850 miles for the two days, and there was maybe 30 minutes of slab, and maybe 1 hour total of semi-straight highway on the way back home Monday. I was pretty tired on the way back home Monday night and there was not a straight section to be found. When does this roller coaster ride stop??

Great weekend with great riding buddies...Duane/1911 is a first class rider and ride planner.

So I move down to SC with two first class wrenchers and riders...it don't get no better 'n dat.

I should have hooked up with you guys this past weekend. I went up to WV and it was just long straight boring roads up there.
That would have been fine, except we tend not to ride with guys that let loose electrical wiring drag behind their bike like a kite's tail...

Well, that and I tend not to ride with guys that get flats all the time....bad karma.

I keep going west, southwest and northwest, but one of these days I'm going to have to come back east and have some fun in your back yards.

Thanks for the kind word.

This weekend was the combination of road layout, road condition, scenery, weather, surprisingly light traffic and company that make for a GREAT ride.

BUT

Every pleasure has its’ price.

When we get to the bottom of Brown Mtn we hit a wall of heat and humidity that makes me want to turn right around and head back north. When I arrive at home I’m greeted by Mrs1911 and the dog. Smokey’s expression of joy at my return is honest, unconditional and without ulterior motive. Mrs1911 gives me a kiss and asks how my ride was. I tell her it was awesome. She says good, now fix the @#$% air conditioner!

That red fuzz packed all around the contacts in my compressor relay is fire ants. They decided to commit mass electro-suicide in my a/c unit shortly after I left Sunday just so I’d roll in exhausted and hungry to a house full of cranky women and a new chore. Not a monstrous or costly tragety, just karma’s way of saying “I’ve got your number boy”.

Also not my first electrical failure caused by ants. They’ve gotten a couple fence chargers and an alternator too.

Caption for pic 23 - I wonder if I can pass that slow POS red guy on the next blind corner!
