How about the PR2 GT? At one time I swear I saw these available (maybe 2 years ago) but can't seem to find them now. I love my PR2's and thought a set of GT's would hold up better when I do my 50CC later this summer (a lot of slab), guess I am going to go with the PR4 GT.

Great to know. I should burn up my OEM tires at SW-FOG and will have my fresh set of PR2s installed for the Black Hills Roundup.

I think the GTs just have a stiffer sidewall for better loaded up handling, I don't think they have more tread.

www.jakewilson.com currently has the PR2 for $257.98 for both front and back, shipped. This is the best price I have seen.
Rocky Mountain ATV also has the same price- free 3 day shipping as well- for those that are out west. Their sites are eerily similar- I think theymight be sister companies or something. I have used Rocky Mountain ATV in the past for tires and other items for my wheeler and have had good experiences with them. I pass by their warehouse when I go to my brothers. (It is in Payson Utah - right off the freeway) https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/ My experience in the past with the free shipping, is that it rocks! It has not taken three days for them to ship, I usually get it the next day. It's like free overnight shipping!

I was under the impression that they also had a little different compound in the center of the tire as well - so your chicken strip does not flatten out as fast.

The PR2 B specification has the duel compound like the standard PR2, however it has an extra side wall layer.

To be honest I use both, same tyre life, wear and grip.

I average between 16K - 18K kms

Normally buy in from Rocky Mountain / Jake Wilson, same company.

PR2's are very hard to find locally.

Great news - my go to tire also, since I like its performance at what is a comparatively good price. The stiffer sidewall version for the rear has been denominated a "B" spec, rather than a "GT" over the years I've been mounting them. Speaking of which, the only differences I can tell the B spec provides is about $15 more in cost and some extra required cursing while mounting. I have yet to notice a difference in handling or tire wear.

Rich speaks the truth. After many, many sets used by the PNW crew, the standard PR2 rear does it just as well as a "B" spec. Doesn't seem to matter if you're 1-up, 2-up or towing a trailer...mileage is very similar between both.
