Ya'll sure do talk funny!
I thought you really meant DOWN when you said down. You really meant up yonder, not down hyar.
Someone needs to give Ashe a lesson on the term DownEast ..... takers? (this is actually a test for anyone "from away") no cheating by google etc. (I know some of you will) and the answer is ........ ?

Hi Everyone,

I have lots of pics and video but I'm barely holding on to this internet connection. Yesterday we rode up Mt Washington, it was fun and exciting, esp when the water truck soaked the dirt road section. We came down the mountain and rode thru a thunderstorm, then on to Hurricane Mountain road. I had a blast, full 5 stars from me. It's one and a half lanes wide, no lines, no traffic, no shoulders with twisty corners and sharp air catching hills. What more could you ask for?

Went to Bar Harbour but couldn't find accomodations, the place was nuts busy. We went back to Ellsworth and had a fantastic dinner(steamed lobster and mussels)

Today was visiting places in Maine. Went to Pidgeon Hill, travelled along US1, visited Eastport, up thru St Stephens and stopped in Saint John. The tide was out and it's absolutely amazing how much the water level changes. It was mostly raining today and got quite cool in the afternoon. We called it early tonight and Dar did a load of laundry.

If I ever get a good connection I will try to post some pics.

Where in the heck are you staying in Saint John that you don't have a good internet connection ?

I'd like to ride up Mt Washington in a few weeks but I think I'm too skeert

Steamed lobster and mussels ...... mmmmmmm

Hey, Mike - good on YOU for spelling Saint John correctly !!! (although you slipped on St. Stephen. Perhaps that 's' at the end was a typo ;) )

Keep on keepin' on and stay safe!

I heard from Mike & Dar last night. They are in Saint John New Brunswick and planning to spent tonight in Nova Scotia. Sounds like they should have decent weather for the run around the Cabot Trail.

Man, Nova Scotia must be the new Cuba for Ontarionionians. I went out, my buddy Bob just came back, Nicky & Mike are out there right now, so are Mike and Dar. Then just last night I found out Harry and his buddy are heading out there next week.

I heard something about an Italian couple were supposed to fly to Sydney Australia but the travel agent screwed up and they flew into Sydney Nova Scotia. The story goes that they got the grand tour of the Maritimes because the Maritimers really stepped up - which doesn't surprise me in the least. I'm guessing that they don't regret the mix up one bit!

Today was WET! We got up to rain, then it rained some more and then you guessed it, it rained. We managed to visit the Hopewell Rocks then drove to Pictou via the direct route.

This evening we were treated to some down east hospitality from Canadian FJR and his lovely wife Terri. We got to ride in a warm dry covered vehicle to an absoutely wonderful restaurant. Dar & I had a great meal with great friends. Thank you both again.

The next couple of days are supposed to be wet , so we may rearrange our agenda. We might visit Dar's aunt in Bridgewater first and then head to Cape Breton after that. We will call her tomorrow and see if that works.

We came out of a restaurant and the sun was shining thru my front wheel and the shadow looked like my bike was smiling at me

Nice photos, Mike!

The rain sucks but ...... at least it's warm ? mostly ?

Environment Canada forecast for Cheticamp shows great riding weather Saturday through Tuesday.

Keep the rubber on the road !

Tonight we are in Sheet Harbour. Yesterday we were travelling to Bridgewater to visit Dar's aunt. On the way there we had an incident with the 8 Murray Mckay toll bridge in Halifax. We stopped, paid for 2, I went thru, Dar looked over to buddy and he indicated go, but the barricade came down accros her face and down she went. Not the sight I want to see in my mirror. A bunch of cosmetic damage but she is ok. Scuff on her knee and a sore hand. We've been thru many toll booths before. Sometimes they let us both go thru at the same time, sometimes one at a time. Guy didn't say anything and Dar looked right at him. Anyway I fixed the bike with duct tape and a couple of new footrest bolts at her aunts house.

We had a short but fun day today. Great lunch in Hubbards(thanks Scott). 212 and 357 were untravelled and fun sweepers. The #7 coastal road was also fun at "higher" speeds. We have rooms booked in Ingonish and Cheticamp, so the next 2 days will be very fun. Weather was hot today and supposed to be very nice for the next few days.

Durn! I rode the Cat last time out east and it was fun and cut a bunch of time off our return trip. Oh well that just means more time in the saddle. That's a good thing right?

You talk'n about your FJR..... Right??!!  :D :D

B B)
Hey we're on vacation. YeeeeeHawwwww! nudge nudge wink wink say no more, say no more.

Sorry to hear about the little mishap but glad all is well. Terri was asking where I thought you folks eneded up and I found it kinda humerous that you are in Sheet Harhour. We're heading there this morning for ball provincials. Have a great ride up the #7 and enjoy Cape Breton.

We have made it to Ingonish, Cape Breton. Staying at the Glenhorm Beach Resort in a cottage overlooking the Atlantic and a beautiful beach. Just had a delicious seafood dinner and now going to check out local pub. Lots of construction today on the Cabot Trail - kind of sucked. See you on the other side of the island Sunday night!

Good to hear, remember to do the Neil's Harbour Loop on your way to Cheticamp. If you have time, take in a whale tour while in Cheticamp.

I have heard that the food is good here https://legabriel.com/index.php located on Main Street in Cheticamp.

Have fun and ride safe.
