Dremel rotary tool with a burr bit and a steady hand.

Well, I have a Dremel but the steady hand is debatable. My ADD is always acting up.

I just used a small round file. The plastic is very thin, it takes very little time or effort.

Mine's a Gen 3, but same concept. I drilled directly thru the fiberglass nose structure. Used a grommet to seal around the wire. Looks professional to me.

Installed LR4s on my '15 using same wire routing as others. Used a round file close to same diameter as wire...neat, tidy and no power tools around plastic.
