The OEM accessories website shows color-matched "hand guards" for the 2013 FJR. They are mounted to the mirrors and look like enlarged mirror covers which deflect wind blast. Part # 1MC-F61C0 - V0-00. Doesn't look like these are available for the 2014. Does anyone know whether/if these color-matched hand guards will be made for the 2014 FJR?

They are in the UK, I have a set (free as part of a promotion) for my Magnetic Bronze '14. Which is of no help to you.

I am unlikely to fit mine, they make the bike look more like a pig than a motorbike. Might change my mind if the weather turns very cold.

The very spendy '13 foot guards don't seem to be available for the '14 either. A quick shipment to Garauld could fix the '14 color issue for both items.

It's only a 10 minute job to fit them. The trouble is you have to fit them before you leave home. Carrying them with you just in case you might want them isn't really an option.

Going to Spain in March next year. I might fit them for that If the weather looks like being cold. Doubt I will during our winter, unless I do another Christmas run.

Sounds like if you want them just buy the 2013 grey ones and get them painted. I ride all year round, and it gets pretty cold (and windy) in these parts. I regularly ride in the 30s and 40s. A little wind break for the hands sounds pretty good.

I have the OEM color-matched foot shields on my 2014, so they do exist. Was Part of the deal with the OEM sliders at the dealer.
...Ben...

I have the foot shields, also free as part of a promotion package. Fitting these is a bit more of an issue, you have to remove the side fairings.

But I think these do improve the look of the bike.

Note it's not so easy to access the oil level site glass and oil filter.

How effective I don't really know, I put mine on shortly after I got the bike and before any significant trip, but my feet and lower legs are certainly staying dry.

Canada isn't the same country as the US in Yamaha's marketing plan. Y'all get some features and colors that the US doesn't get. Are your foot shields the US '14 red color or are the foot shields available in US red? Fortunately, we don't get the abusive Canadian pricing.

For the good of the collective I mounted my Knuckle Visors (as Yamaha like to call them), and took some before and after pictures.

More pictures starting around here.

They don't affect the standard movement of the mirror's glass or the stem. They would probably sacrificially prevent mirror scratching with a zero-speed tip-over.

Time to fit? The last "unfitted" picture has a time-stamp of 11:18:06, the first "fitted" one has 11:29:36, so less than 11 minutes 30 seconds. That includes opening the garage door, finding the right screwdriver (a T-20 star driver), extracting the screws from their packets, sipping coffee ...

I'll leave them on for a bit, see how they perform when the weather gets a bit worse. Weather's not too bad today, as you can see from the pics. Sunny, temps around 17C (63F). But dark clouds are coming over ...

Not so keen on the looks of the knuckle visors, but function has to win out sometimes. The reason I am even posting is because I don't care what anyone says, that Root beer color is stunning. That's a pretty bike!!

I can't find these anywhere for the 2014 FJR US model. What the hell? Is it still a matter of buying these out of Canada and having them painted? I think they look good.
You can buy these here in a good price but not in red color: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Star-Motorcycle-OEM-2013-YNM5-FJR1300A-Knuckle-Visors-Handguard-Mirrors-/291137634580?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43c927c114&vxp=mtr#shpCntId

And repaint them in red color in your local painting shop cheap i believe or with an aerosol, will need a base coat aerosol,a top coat aerosol and a clear coat aerosol from colorite: https://www.colorrite...zardresults.cfm

But,the total cost will be about $220+.

They cost in Europe about $210 + $35 shipping.

If you want them I can buy these in red color 1MC-F61C0-30-00 from Greece and send you if you like. They aren't available in Greece now,but they can send these to me from the central Yamaha in Netherlands in about one week to ten days.

I think it might be cheaper and faster to buy these off of eBay and just have them professionally repainted here in the Ststes. It is a very kind offer though and I appreciate your gesture. I would not want to put you to all that time and trouble.

Not a problem for me to send you these if you want them
