Heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Similar situation for me, lost my dad at 56, heart attack while he slept. He retired early, then gained a bunch of weight, got hypertension....anyway, he was a vet also. I would have liked to have met your dad just to shake his hand and thank him. Anytime I run into a veteran I consider that an honor. Very sorry for your loss.

Regards

Lost my dad 6 years ago to cancer aged 81. Still miss him and think of him (and sometimes talk to him) every day. He was always my hero. A vetran of WWII in a Sherman in Africa against Rommel and up through Italy and Monte Cassino. Ex traffic cop and dead against bikes after seeing plenty of carnage on the roads.

He is not gone for me, never will be.

Nothing we can do or give can change it, just a fact of life we have to cope with. Take care, whenever you think of him he will be with you. Its what you want and its what he would have wanted.

Sorry to hear the news Chief!

The wound left from my father's recent death (2/8/07) is still open, woke up at 4 a.m. this morning and once I did my thoughts immediatly turned toward my father's death and my mother's coping. Once there, nothing else much left to do but get up and turn on the coffee pot and pet the dog. It will take a while!

God Speed Pappa Chief!----------tell your dad to look up my pop up there and for the 2 of them to have a drink, pop cant be far away from the pearlies, suspect he is still ck'n in and filling out paper work

Chief. I'm sorry for your loss. Just lean on those around you and you'll get through it. God bless.

Sorry for your loss Chief. I lost my dad to lung cancer almost 7 years ago at the age of 86.

It was my dad that got me into this crazy 2-wheel world. He had this Sears (re-branded Cushman) motor scooter that he rode to work most every day. It was 1 mile from our house to his place of work. That was my first 2-wheel ride some 40+ years ago.

Hardly a day goes by that I don't remember him.

Here is one of the last pic's I have of my pop..............before he died from lung cancer. This pic. was taken last summer while on vacation when times were better and much more fun. Pop in his natural state.........w/a smile and a scotch and water.........mom with her sloe gin fiz
