I know it's Labor Day Weekend, but I am planning on a day long sojourn into letter road territory weather permitting. Leaving the MSP metro area by 7:30am and returning late afternoon on Saturday the 3rd. If anyone is looking for ride you are free to tag along. Route is not final yet but I am planning on entering the Land Of Cheese at Prescott and making it as far south as the La Crosse area.

Not sure what our plans are yet for the weekend, but I might have to grab some letters with you. Are you going for the RR patch?

Pretty much south of 10, west of 94 and north of 90 along the river...lots of scenic riding in the area.

But if you're up front, you can clear out the road hazards for everyone else.

I was out in that area last Thursday and Friday, and I'm going again this Friday. Be warned.....LOTS of road damage in that area, from the big rains 2 or 3 weeks ago. Several bridges washed out, many partial pavement gaps, along the shoulder, tons of gravel strips where they patched damaged pavement, and even more gravel in the corners than usual. On county N and Mindoro Cut (108), they have replaced the culverts, and at every one, there are six-foot wide gravel patches, many of them at mid-corner or corner exit locations. County DD outside of Ettrick has sections that were apparently "repaved" by a guy with a scoop shovel and a garden rake. County NN outside of Gilmanton has been freshly pea-rocked, and is very loose. County C northwest of Arcadia (east of Montana) has a section that is gravel.

Don't want to be Dewey Downer, but just be careful over there.

Those wanting to ride can meet up at the Freedom Value Center gas station in Prescott at 7:30ish. We can adjust our route based on the SwollenRaccoon's road report. I will build a couple of different routes into my GPS. Looks like the reported damage is mostly on the southern portion of the route.

I'm a definite maybe.... what time are you meeting @ Prescott (or Lakeville)?

Freedom Value Center gas station in Prescott at 7:30ish am...it's right at the end of the bridge...hard to miss...everyone can then be topped up before we leave.

If you do draw up some optional routes and link them to Google Maps like you did above, then I can add them to my GPS as well.
