modifying the tail section

I too chopped the tail section.......regretted doing it. Had the bike out one day after in the rain with the top box on and.....well....what a mess. So I rigged up a replacement with a piece of black plastic mud flap, some flat aluminum, a couple pop rivets, some black spray paint and the original rear reflector. I am able to bolt the part on the bottom of the license plate for any trips and if it's a nice day and I feel sporty, I just remove it. Hindsight being 20/20, I never should have chopped it.

A new rear fender wall cost only $100. I'd hate to have to install it though.
