Very cool. I found a bunch more on the originators website: CLICKY
Many cool ones there. The motion induced blindness is just freaky to think about on the road.

I still can't *make* this chick spin the opposite way, though.
that's wild. i got her to switch once by looking at her feet. couldn't get her to switch back without using the aid (giving her eyes). wild stuff.

Watch her toes on the top foot...that works ...

for some reason with the 3 yellow dots, the bottom one was always there... I tho they were all supposed to disappear...

...um, are these supposed to indice involuntary bowel movements? *cleanup isle 5*

The spinning lady worked fine for me, spins both ways. The rotating blue graph and yellow/green dots is fascinating. I know the science behind vision and fooling the brain is supposed to be difficult, but there we have it... proof!

Thanks, thems fun!

If you'd like to find your blind spot and watch your thumb dissappear: Close your left eye, hold your thumb directly in front of your right eye. Now slowly move your thumb to the right. At about 15 degrees you thumbnail will disappear. You have to continue looking straight ahead for it to work.

Check this out from MSF: clicky

My best explanation...Fixation.

Normally our eyes are like a telescope; however, fixation is more like a microscope in that our eyes fixate, or focusses in on a point, leading to motion blindness. This is why it is important to continue scanning the road and not 'fixate' on any one point.

I'm sure someone here will correct me...anybody?

Umm, that could also indicate a problem of a different sort...

I once had a virus on my right optic nerve that caused a peripheral blind spot big enough to cover a dump truck at 20 feet. That's why I like playing these visual field games these days, just to keep checking if things are semi-normal.

The motion blindness demo is very cool.

Something even cooler? Try staring at any one of the three yellow dots. The green blinking dot changes color to yellow but never disappears.

Headlight modulators anyone?
