It's always nicer to ride "somewhere else". For some of us, Muskoka is "somewhere else". A two wheel weekend therapy session is going to cost money where ever it is held, if it is "somewhere else". Let's keep exploring our options within the boundaries of this particular thread...
Just my thought. I'd say "my two cents", but I'm not sure of the current exchange rate.
You're absolutely right. I can be in the Muskoka's in 90 minutes from home. Which means it doesn't really qualify as 'somewhere else' for me. Throw in the cost of spending the night somewhere...

Last I exchanged money was for the Ramble at the start of May, Exchange rate was 23 cents on the dollar, meaning for every US dollar I wanted, I had to spend 1.23. Works great for coming across to this side of the border if your in the US. Not so much going the other way :D

And LittleJon, we don't use pennies in Canada anymore.

We no longer have pennies but the government still Nickle & Dimes us to death. So for all you guys coming from south of the border the banks here will give you $1.25 for each green back you trade for a Loonie at todays exchange rate.

Yamafitter is up to eyeballs in dirtbike organizing now but said he would assist if he could. So we need to determine the following

Date:

Ride area:

estimated number of riders:

We need to get a rough idea on the number of riders to look into the lodging requirements.

OK based on the crazyness the PanAm games has started in the area I strongly suggest we forget about July. Traffic in every direction from Niagara to Barrie is nuts already and the games don't start for another week. Yes we would avoid all the traffic once we got north of Barrie but we still have to get there and back eventually. So what weekends in August work for those interested?

Choices 1-4

  1. Aug 7-9
  2. Aug 14-16
  3. Aug 21-23
  4. Aug 29-30

I found a really good 'new' ride on the west side of the area. Starts with a stop at a Red Door Bakery on 124 (The bakery is just past the start of the ride on 124). and winds it's way in a loop to pop out on Hwy 520 and finally back to 124.

what dates are good for you guys? option 3 or 4? that would help narrow it down.

Sorry, I lost focus ;)

Actually I'm not sure?, that late in the summer I'm usually heavy into the boating scene. I wouldn't mind a get-away weekend however. The only anchor for me now is.... "the Boss", and her wants & desires.

I'll start probing her (verbally u pigs!) and see what she thinks.

Let the probing begin you Probaholic you. The clock is ticking to see how long it takes you to probe for an answer

I personally would like option 3 to allow for return to school last minute things on the last weekend in Aug.

Of the two remaining choices, I'd have to pick the fourth one (have a wedding in Ra-cha-cha on the 22nd). However, my attendance depends on the finances at that point, as I am still loafing and not working.

Bungie whines about car tires and he whines about coffee.

He goes on and on about how awesome a Gen1 is and then goes out and buys a Gen3. He drinks that watered down MickyD crap so any opinion he might have about coffee ain't worth ****.

That MickyD bilge water they they try to pass off as coffee is made using the degreaser they use to clean out the deep friers. McD can't make burgers, they can't make fries and they sure as hell can't make coffee.

Anything KJ yaps about is just noise anyways so I don't know why I even bothered to reply.

I'm out for this ride anyways. Nothing in August works for me.

Billy needs to see that movie "Supersize Me" I think.... especially the part at the end about the fries.............

BTW, I am attending the annual ST event Aug. 20-23, so will have my fill of Muskoka roads that weekend..... based near Windemere. If the ride is that weekend, you might see a flock of ST's and a couple of FJR's in the mix.......
