Well, I've been reading about the Castlegar run, trips to Alaska and the IBA so I figured I've better get busy. My first road trip was going to be up to the Volcano (at least to the gate). 6/23/12 Saturday morning it was raining pretty good but not wanting to be called a fair weather biker I put my rain gear on - Frogg jacket/pants and warm waterproof gloves. Raised the garage door and backed out into the sun. After gassing up I was sweating a bit so I unzipped my rain jacket then left Vancouver and head for Cougar and beyond.
Had a ball riding up there and I did have to zip my rain jacket back up but it was due to the temp not rain. Ate a couple of apples and some juice for lunch then turned around and headed back. I got all the way home and entered my garage with a big smile on my face. I did learn a thing or two on the trip. My bike has altitude sickness and I'm just about crippled this morning. I've read about some bikes not liking high places but it got me up there and back. I can live with that if it doesn't do any damage to the bike. Now as for being almost crippled, I've got to get some more miles under my butt before I try for any IBA trips.
This is my first Ride Report with more to come.
Take care all,
Lee
