Hi All,

Recently I was looking at an 04 FJR, with 21k miles for $9500. I go back to the dealership only to find out it is sold.

He told me of an 05 FJR w/ABS, 5k miles, new Avons 45/46's, and bar risers for $10,500. I check the bike out and it is practically new. Private sale...brother of salesperson. Warrantee just ran out.

I get a call from another salesperson, different dealership, stating that he can get me a new FJR w/ABS for $11,320. With a $500 deposit, he will locate an FJR from another dealership. $200 more for Freight and Setup plus $79 for Docs and Title.

I check another 05 FJR, 2180 miles. Original warrantee just ran out, has 4 year YES with it for $11,500.

I'm leaning towards the 05 w/5k miles on it.

I went price shopping for insurance and was quoted $1120 from Progressive. 38 year old w/clean license. Time to shop around. I'd like to have a bike by 9/9/05.

Your opinions please,

:D

That insurance is about half my cheapest quote for full coverage (comp, coll, uinsured etc)

what's 1120 get you in Albany?

try king cycle he should have a new 05 in stock tell him mike said to call if its in stock ask for Rocko 718 773 2279 . they are located in brooklyn, n.y.

I have State Farm. I pay around $350. a year full coverage. Good luch, you will love the bike... ;)

Sounds like you have a couple of good purchase options, don't let them get away, buy one now!! Insurance is $750 per year here in Naples Florida with State Farm. ;)

I am in Ulster County NY, near Woodstock. I pay under $400 for full coverage. I don't have my insurance card with me right now and I don't remember the name of the company. I'll post it later. I use Progressive for my cars because they gave me the best price for the coverage I want, but not for my bikes.

I'm in SW Colorado and use American Family Ins., $350.00 for full coverage. I used Progressive for a couple of years on my truck, there's a reason they're called Progressive, the rates progressively increase at every renewal. JB

I ended up switching from Progressive to Geico here in AZ where insurance is always expensive. Progressive $1100.00, Geico $688.00!

Geico last year quoted me $360, yesterday they quoted me $740. I guess I'll stay with GMAC $542. I have extra liability and $250 deductables. I'am an old fart with a clean record. :cownoy:

I tried nearly every insurance company. Ended up with USAA who has the rest of our policys.

They were outrageous with my R-1 and my FZ-1, but the FJR was less than $600 per year for full coverage here in SoCal. Nearest quote was $1100. Both Progressive and Geico lumped the FJR into the same class as the Busa!

Keep shopping and don't up until every stone is turned!

And welcome to the club!
