Huge thank you for this thread!

I was able to modify the MV adapter with my bench top sander so I got the little extra pull back. Looks like it was machined. I also modify the two supplied cable brackets and everything work out perfectly.

Thanks again to all the previous posters on this topic!

Can someone tell me what size/length the bolt and nut is on post #277. The nuts have a blue marking on each of them. My MV didn't come with this hardware......Thanks,

Greg

Greg, these bolts and nuts with the blue marking on pst #277 are the oem stock parts..You will use these for the MV installation on your triple clamp.

You have receive these hardware in the picture, right?Where is the problem?

Yes, I did receive those parts. However, I had the Helibar triple clamp on my bike, and don't have the OEM parts.
Ouch..You will need these parts:The N.12 x1/N.13 x2/and N.14 x2.

The prices in this site are very good from what i have seen..

Perhaps you will not need these two bolts:

You have receive from MV four M8 bolts? If yes,the two are for the installation of the riser plate on the triple clamp and the other two are for the installation of the handlebars on the MV riser plate. These four M8 bolts are longer from the oem i believe. But anyway buy them, they are not expensive...Perhaps you will need them somewhere....

In the process of installing the riser on my '14 ES, have the plate installed, left handlebar assembly is on but for the right side handlebar, anyone care to share what they did to get some slack for the wires?

EDIT- found some slack by removing a couple plastic wire ties, should be good to go!

Is it correct that the bolts attaching the handlebars to the riser plate would be at the same specs as what Yamaha states for the bars to the top triple clamp?

Did you ever find out an answer? I am thinking of ordering these for my 14ES.

For the necessary slack of the wiring for the right handlebar, I removed a plastic wire tie as the wiring was secured fairly tight across the front of the ignition switch.

I used the same torque specs as the service manual states for the factory bolts.

I have the MV risers on my '14ES and love them. The rotation adjust-ability is significant. Ordered from Germany and received in about 4 days. A word of warning... the instructions seem to be the German version literally translated. The ES version requires a couple easy modifications to the cables but includes the adapters for doing such. Highly recommend this product.

Help please! I need some guidance on this installation on my '06 FJR. I've got the cables repositioned per instructions from the manufacturer and from posts in this topic. The bars are off and I'm ready to mount the plate. However, 2 days after I received the plate from MV Motorrad in Germany, I got a second package from them containing two bushings and a handwritten note that says: "Yesterday we shipped the new modified version of the riser plate. Please find enclosed two rings which you have to fit, too". No other instructions were included. Bushings are 24mm in diameter and 10mm high. Not sure where these two bushings fit into the installation sequence. I'm stumped. Your advice please. Thanks.

p.s. I'd include a picture, but I'm having a devil of a time uploading an image.

Guys it looks like this is something I may need to try. my hands go a bit numb and i would love to sit up just a bit more. I have a couple questions. Does the wire loom need to be cut. if you were to sell the bike can it be put back to original if the new owner had that concern. and last, is he tank still able to be pivoted back with the bars all the way back towards the rider. This may just be the thing to make the bike 100% comfortable. I typically do 12-14hr days on the weekend and my back, shoulders, and hands give me a bit of problem.

I believe someone soon with a Gen2 & Gen3 will help you both about your questions..I have a Gen1 and i can't help you much...

If you don't receive any responce, you could start a new thread with your questions..

I had a GenII but, I'm sure it's the same. No cutting of wire loom. Took mine off and sold the bike in stock condition. No problem... Last, I was able to pivot tank bank. You just had to be a little more cautious. (take your time)

Question - does anyone use the RAM Bone with the MV Motorad riser....

If anyone knows - does the Ram Bone work with the MotorCycle Larry Riser as well...

From the pics - it looks like it would work with either --- but I could easily throw it to a mill with no RAGRETS ?!?!?
