Anyone got any photos of how you routed that throttle wire across the front right fork leg, up high, around the triple tree? Mine seems really tight when turned to the limit and I'm afraid I might have misunderstood how they said to deal with that. Any photos would be most appreciated.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy with them. Before them, 5-9 minutes in, my right fingers were dead. With these, it takes about 50 minutes before I feel anything, and what I feel isn't the same. It's no where near as severe a feeling of numbness. I think if I could rotate the bars about 2-3 more degrees in, I would be perfect, but they won't go any further in.

Flash makes my bike look dirty. Ok, well, the dirt makes it look dirty, but the flash really brings it out. Anyway, hope this works for you, it's just kind of hanging out out there. Works for me.

MY adapter showed up approx. 10 days from initial order from Germany. It turns out I saved approx. 125.00 from ordering out of the US. (Most of that is all exchange rate and brokerage/shipping. ) I paid the same amount in CAD funds including shipping to my door from Germany as I would have pd in US money before any shipping etc. The little hiccup with the emails was well worth it.

The install would have taken less than an hour had I not decided to lube /check the head bearings (and then make a tool to retorque the nut) .

Install was straight forward and trick to the bracket on right side is to leave the elastic in place that is holding the securing bolts. Start the brake line bolt first but leave quite loose and then start the frame bolt while using a prybar for a little leverage. (The prybar is only needed as there is not much room for two hands in there..........the actual force necessary is very little.

Have adapter fully adjusted to rear with bar angel more forward than stock so that wrist alignment is natural. NO more shoulder muscle tightness after a 3 hr ride. Wish I had done this mod 40K km ago. Multiple hr consecutive days in comfort are now a reality!!

Installed mine as well and have it the farthest up and back it will go. I also bought The Perfect Squeeze to mount to the ram ball and use it for my cell phone for GPS. I did 2 2.5 hour rides and love the MV product and The Perfect Squeeze is just awesome!

Add me to the list of happy MV owners. Purchased factory direct on line and received them in 3 days. Installed them that night in about an hour. Could have been quicker but while I was sitting on the bike to adjust them I just didn't want to get off the bike so I just sat there in the garage and took an imaginary ride. OK it was late - 1AM and that might have had something to do with it. After 300 miles the next day I did readjust the angle somewhat. I now have them full aft and at a very neutral or natural angle. Have found it to be a very relaxed ride position. I am now slightly more upright and not reaching for the bars which has eliminated the pain I was experiencing in my upper back and shoulder blade area. Very good quality, easy install, acceptable price, Fantastic results

Got mine installed today. Still working on where I want to adjust them. I have them set so they are almost straight, but my hand hits the windshield at full left or right. The other issue I see is the caps on the handlebars. They don't sit the same way when bolted back on, not as flush, they appear to slip down as you tighten the screw. Probably the gap between the bolt head and the plate.

Check the tightness of your bolts! My Motorrad plate fit perfectly, and all the caps, bolts, screws, etc, also fit perfectly.

Hud, how you been doing? All tightened up and torqued down. Those little screws though that hold the caps on the handlebar do slide down though if you over tighten them. I thing in the stock configuration they rest on top of the original bolts when tightened down. When you doing another RTE?

I'm fine, thanks. Nice avatar.

Planning another RTE in August: the middle of the heat in the middle of town. Click here for preliminary details; real details will be posted in the SE Ride Planning section. If enough folks turn out it could become the annual Atlanta Roast.

Still real happy with the plate...the only negative for me so far is that fact that I can't see behind me via mirrors unless I pull a hand off the grips....I may have to make some kind of riser for them or something.

I just inherited an MV riser plate from a friend who did not like it. It came off his 14' ES and I have a 15' ES. Is there any indication if this is the version that fits the ES model? It looked like he had to remove the large cable loom on the left side? He did not install it himself. Many posts and articles say "no go" on the ES but the MV web-site indicates you can order one for 2013- and up. I have done a lot of miles on my two FJR's but I am still feeling to crouched and leaned forward. I want to try it but not sure of I can do it myself or have the dealer here in Montana do it when getting some new tires.

I'm pretty sure the 2014 and 2015 have the same handlebar/triple tree arrangement, so I'd say, "Go for it".

My memory isn't great, but I don't remember removing any cables. (If there had been that need, I wouldn't have installed the thing, becuase I have very little confidence in my mechanical abilities.)

There was a cable extender (I foggily remember) and a lot of cable wrestling, but no significant disassembly -- except for the handlebars themselves. Took about 90 minutes, but most of that was due to my aforementioned mechanical ineptitude.

I think Mihalis fjr posted a link to the instructions. They may help you decide if it will work.

If it comes from a 14 ES,surely will fit in your 15 ES.Also you can find a looot of info and pictures about the installation in this 22 pages thread..

I have a Gen1,but from what i read the installation in a GEN2 /3 is pretty easy.Have a look at this 22 pages thread and go for it.If you encounter a problem, someone here with a Gen2/3 will help you i believe..

Yes. There is an "ES" specific model of the risers - should fit any of the gen 3's.

The instructions I have require you to slide the throttle cables outside of the wire loom from the rest of the cables in there. There was no need to cut the wire retaining loom. I don't remember whether I had to tweek it to open in up slightly, but I don't think so. I believe the throttle cables just slid outboard with just a bit of wiggle effort.

The throttle cables then have more play, and the installation kit provides a black zip tie to secure them to the outside of the right fork tube. If you don't use the zip tie, it's not the end of the world, but the manufacturer intended that the throttle cables look ship shape, and have no possibility to bind on anything.

Well.. got the plate on which was not a picnic for me. Getting the bolts to catch and tread the nut from the upper plate was like micro surgery to me.

Had to remove the plates that hold the wires under the handlebars to gain enough length to make it work. It's not pretty but I got it done.

Took a 1000 mile 3 day trip up thru the Canadian Rockies and as others have mentioned my throttle hand was numb and asleep most of the time. There is some form of new vibration that gets through that just puts my hand asleep. I know bar ends or grip puppies can alleviate that but i do not want to go that route. Has anyone tried a slim rubber gasket between the triple clamp and the riser? Something is odd here. I do like the new riding position even though I cannot get the bars back as far as I want because I am out of wire. The GPS mount works great. I'm just wondering what can be done with the additional vibration?

Ι have never heard that anyone tried to install a rubber gasket between the triple clamp and riser, but i don't think that this trick eliminates or reduce some vibrations.

All the fjrs have some vibrations especially at 4000rpms and above..Bar ends and grip puppies will filter out and reduce them but the vibrations will still there...

Bar ends, perhaps and raisers will convey the vibrations in another range and the grip puppies will filter out them..My opinion.
