I clicked on a posted thread tonight, and the way we do, I started chasing other interesting-looking videos posted in YouTube till I came to the one below.

Last summer I was fortunate enough to join a group of folks from the forum and the Arizona Beemers group on a guided 8-day tour of the Alps. I've raved about it here before, so I won't repeat myself, but the--THE--very most memorable piece of road I've ever seen was the Stelvio Pass coming into Switzerland from Italy. So when I saw a link to a posted ride up the pass from the south--the same way we came--I couldn't resist. I'd say the video starts half way up, maybe a bit more. This guy was riding a K1600 GTL, and had the freedom (and the power) to set his own pace. Nothing extreme, the road doesn't LET you be too extreme, but a good rider very capable of getting by whatever he wanted.

One of the coolest parts of the vid is the accompanying music. It really seemed to evoke the feeling of the magical location and the rhythm of the alternating left and right very tight turns. I really just got lost in it. Take ten minutes and enjoy.

Amazing..!!

Cool vid Mike Thanks for posting!
Did you get a chance to stop at any of those viewpoints and soak up the scenery??
We were in a group of eleven bikes, following our guide, so it was pretty much constant motion. There was a minor stoppage ahead of us at one point when somebody (not one of us) blew a turn and went down, and I gathered that you can almost plan on that at least once. Our guide told us--only after we got to the top--that we were one of the first groups he'd taken up where nobody biffed.

Anyway, the view was best at the top, and we stopped for lunch at a great place right at the very peak where you couldn't complain about the view at ALL.

Really enjoyed that maybe one day I will get there . What month of the year do you recommend ??
We were there in the first couple weeks of August, and for us, it worked out perfectly. Temps were just right, clear skies--total great luck. It could have just as easily rained every day, or been way too hot (except maybe at the very tops of the mountains). Our guide mentioned he'd taken groups out with nothing but rain and no visibility, day after day.

What a nice ride! You made my morning as I prepare for work. Thanks for posting!

BTW-whats with all the GIVI top cases? LOL
Other people's bikes.
