question: is that finish textured as it looks or is it clear-coated smooth? If textured, must be a sunuvabitch to clean

what is that anyway, purely cosmetic or an actual weave? surely not actual carbon fiber?

Well, it's not carbon fiber, but it is a real weave. It's called Texalium(Textile Aluminum). The tank is an overlay, but the rest is from body molds, and it is slick as glass. Hard to get pictures of it, as it tricks the autofocus, but in real life, it looks really sweet!

It's not cheap....

Ya have to wonder if it defeats an autofocus beam if it would also defeat LEO radar if on the fairing?

It does remind me of chainmail...

I doubt I'll ever see the fairing get made since I have the FJR now, not much interest in this one anymore.
