I had ME880s on my old Kaw Concours. They worked okay and lasted a long time. I had fun and would occasionally scrape a peg. My impression was that they were touring tires, not sport/touring tires. If I was leaving for a looong trip I might put a set on. However if you like to lean a bike and tend to be a SPORT/touring rider it depends on your restraint, tolerance, and patience. Sure you can use the ME880s and be safe. But do you want to?

What size are the 880 everyone is putting on. I did not think they made the right size.
I just spotted this question. You need to use the 170/60-17s. They are slightly slimmer. With Stradas of the correct size, my speedo was about 2 mph high when checked against the GPS. With the 880s the speedo was closer to 1mph high. The circumference is obviously very close. As I said previously the handling was very good with a Strada on the front.
