Forum Amigos.

Coni Fitch is the extraordinary woman who your generous gifts went to. My reason for starting this is two-fold.

1) Coni has been fighting cancer for the last year and has undergone a surgery that would kill a Grizzly. Her grace through the whole thing and her amazing strength is awe inspiring. If only you knew the half of it. Decorum prevents me from sharing, but trust me, this woman can now eat nails and laugh.

2) She is coming off a BMW K1200LT which has had every major component on it replaced at least twice. She bought an 06' AE hoping to break her bad luck streak with BMW. Having her join our group is a HUGE bonus for us, as her spirit and attitude are always top-notch and will affect everyone around her. Her coolness is contagious Fa Sho.

Here is her Thank You letter to us all which I just received today.

Talk about flabbergasted, you guys really caught me off guard. I was thinking that you were sending a funny picture from the Spank Rally.

This overgenerous display of support is really one astonishing gift and the fact that I am not really up to speed on farkling my new bike really makes this gift even more incredible.

Before I got distracted, I really spent a lot of time on the FJR list and needless to say I lost touch with what is going on. Once I heard about the Park City get together, I thought that would be a good time to catch up. All of you have made this one really great and a much appreciated gift. To get a few hours of that "Warchild Wisdom" will also be absolutely priceless. ~;-)

I don't know how to Thank You All but I will say that I really am looking forward to seeing everyone and enjoying the company and the beauty of everyone else's well farkled machines and hearing all of the great riding stories in Park City.

This is truly one fantastic group.

Blown away in Bellevue,

Coni Fitch

Heres Coni having breakfast at the Spank Rally with Iggy, Warchild, and Don Moses.

So again I commend everyone who pitched in for being so very generous and especially so, having gone in blind to this.

Coni will be in Park City and you should definitely introduce yourselves to this wonderful woman.

Adios and Muchos Gracias Amigos!!!

Somehow I thought it was for Connie. I'm glad we could do something to help her farkle her FJR out a little bit, and I look forward to seeing her again at WFO this year!

This is outstanding! A picture of Coni's beautiful black LT back in the day got me hooked on that bike which in turn jump started my LD riding. She's been a wonderful contributor to bmwlt.com and I'm thrilled to have her as part of the FJR community!

I sent Coni the link to this thread, and here's a note I have permission to re-post.

George,

I continue to be surprised at the organized effort that you put into this.

I was just so inspired after talking to you this week that I called my doc's in D.C. and asked them if I could cut my prescription in half in an effort to get back on the bike. I'm happy to say I am doing just fine. To say the least, I had no idea what you were up to. Eating nails is really not on my menu, but snails (escargot) I'm all in!~;-)

As you know I'm already a customer of SKYWAY'S and dazzled with his products. In fact after talking with you, SKYWAY and I traded a couple of emails about a couple of his products. His gift is really very generous and as he knows I was already signing up for a couple more.

I am so dazzled by you guys,

Coni Fitch

Good luck C and if you're ever out here in Silly Corn Valley, Ohio, It'd be my honor to buy you a cup of coffee or something.

Hey Todd,

Nice to find you again too!

Hope to see you in Park City.

Take care,

Welcome Coni,
See you in Park City!

Gang,

Thanks to all that have responded.

I really do like FJR...perhaps a little more than some.

The FJR probably saved my life. When I first got the bike I had to ride over the mountains to show it to my MOM. (She really liked it!) I kept stopping to check my pockets of my jacket to see what I had in there that kept hitting the tank. Turns out it wasn't what I had in the pockets of my jacket. Because of the ride position on the FJR is so much different than it is on my LT I noticed what I needed to. I went to see my doctor as soon as I got home. As you know, it has kind of detoured my riding a bit. I am determined to get back at it ASAP.

Thank you all for your posts and knowledge that has made owning this bike so rewarding.

Now, for the fun & farkling!

I really look forward to seeing you all in Park City.

Thanks again,

Coni

Welcome Coni, I hope you enjoy your AE as much as I have over the past 13.5k miles. For a "Vintage" LDR like me, it has been a great addition to my bike stable. I have a number of Skyway's farkles on my AE including the magnificent fuel cell. It has regularly produced 450 miles on the appx. 11 gal max load when ridden at or under 70-75mph.

Look forward to meeting you at Park City. Ride safe and be well.

Good story and congrats on beating the big "C" Coni!

I never had any real involvment w/cancer until my father was diagnosed last Thanksgiving. He passed away Feb. 8 at 11:05 a.m. We all got a fast hard education.

It's good to hear/read a story w/a happy ending. Best continued wishes! Ride Safe!

My family has had plenty of involvement with the "C" word, and it is one of the worst words I can imagine. This is an inspiring story and good on ya Coni for giving it a fight. The people on this forum are terrific and the FJR is a great bike. It does me good to see that people can pull together and take care of one another. Should you find yourself in North Texas, let me know, I am sure there would be several of us that would treat you to your favorite beverage.

Welcome Connie. Good to see you here.

Spending a few years on the LT board (I still have the LT) I became acquainted with your kindness and giving spirit and have been a fan ever since. Needless to say, your help with the Admiral's misfortune before the '05 IBR, in spite of your own need to get ready, was truly inspiring.

We have met, in Gatlinburg or Breckenridge, I forgot where and hope to see you again soon.

Best regards,

I took a week off (riding not reading!) and completely missed George's great gesture. Welcome Coni - the response you've seen here is typical of this group - the finest people in motorcycling! Looking forward to meeting you at WooFoo with your farkled-out FJR!

Welcome Sistah! Glad to see you back in action. It was such a treat to see you sitting in my reception room last year and I was thrilled to see you on your new Silver AE. When you're ready, we'll have to make a Doe Run & visit Voni....do you think we can convert her to FJR??? We'll look forward to spending time with you in Park City & hope that we connect well before then. Not sure if your up for it yet, but you're up for a drive (in the car is cool if you're up to it) this weekend, come on over to Prosser for Tech West at Desert Valley Powersports.

Hugs to you and Welcome to FJR land.
