I purchased a set of MZS long adjustable clutch and brake levers for my 16 FJR.

MY question is, are the long MZS levers the same length as the OEM levers?

The levers I received are shorter than the OEM's, but I don't think I received the shortie levers?

If someone has a pair of MZS levers? long or short, could you measure them so I know which set I received.

thanks!

Most aftermarket levers, in the long size, will be close to the size of the OEM levers. What is shown are indeed long levers. Shorties are notably shorter than OEM levers.

Shortie levers usually only accommodate the pointing finger and the birdie finger. I think the idea is to leave your ring finger and pinkie tight to the handlebar grip. Mad German is right; they're noticeably shorter.

If the levers you got are too short, consider returning them, or adopting the "Queen of England" technique.

(That would be grasping the levers with your pinkie finger extended .....)

I ordered a set of long levers from (the2wheels, company) and they were about 1/4 of an inch shorter than the stock ones. If they are considerably shorter than that I would say you got the wrong ones.

Edit: As an added note if your using hand guards make sure they don't bind on the brackets. they have screws that stick out down below. Now I have blue rotors. Had to go back to the garage and bend the bracket to clear the screw that was sticking out below to clear it. The front brake wasn't disengaging all the way and creating a slight drag on the rotors. I could feel something wasn't right and by the time I stopped to check it out it was too late. I imagine the pads will eventually turn them shiny again in time. Seems to be back to normal. Now the rotors match the bike.

Like others have mentioned, I also have several sets of knock-off levers (from the2wheels) and there is a definite difference between long and short. My long knock-offs are approximately 7-1/4" from pivot to tip.

Thanks!

FYI. The levers I received are 6 1/4" long from center pivot point to end of lever. so.. not sure but I think I got the shorties.

I don't think you have shorties. Shorty levers are very short. What you have is simply that particular manufacturer's version of a full size lever.

I believe your right Mad German, they are in between long and short levers.

They are so.. much better than the OEM levers. I have big hands ( no Trumph jokes

) but I still like the levers closer to the handlebar and they do a good job of that. Best $20 USD I have spent on the bike yet.
