Sorry I ain't got no zip  guess again
Tom I ain't got no stinkin' zip and I am on there....you just ain't trying!!

Correct, he is just not trying.

Obviously, our Canadian brethren can provide their zip code (or "postal code", as it is referred to in Canada), and can look up their GPS coordinates and provide them in the correct "decimal" format.

I don't want to spoon feed anyone, but here is a splendid web site that provides our Canadian bros with their proper GPS coordinates (in "decimal" format, even!), and all you have to do is look up your "postal code" to do so:

https://www.postalcodedownload.com/

So if one of our Canadian brothers/sisters want their balloon displayed on the NAFO attendee's map, PM me your "postal code", or better yet, look up your GPS coordinates and forward them to me. If you don't want to be displayed or don't want to bother looking up your own data, that's fine.

Hey! Wheres my baloon? :angry2: We're coming up from Albuquerque NM and registered the fist week! IT's the same story as the national weather reports, Sunny in Arizona and rainey in Texas, uh? Screw that place in between!
What's with the angry smilie? So, your balloon got popped. Not like WC is on the clock for all the work he's done or anything.

Look, folks, if your balloon is missing, don't take offense. It could be something as minor as a code error, your browser is dicked or maybe your complete information was entered wrong on your end(yes, that can happen. we've had many wrong email addy's for example).

Sarcasim, it's a way of life here

How long does it take from time of registration to be on the map?
Or, did I just screw up in putting in my coordinates?

Airbear had a later entry, and was also using "Portland", so he displayed, you didn't.

I tweaked your GPS coordinates and moved them a little bit south, and I see your balloon displayed now.

In fact, we have 7 new balloons now from those who have sent in their coordinates or zip code......

Can I still go even though I'm not on the map?
Um, you got a badge and a gun. Do you need more?

Looking good. Gonna be fun. Great to be able to scan the map and see from where folks are coming.
B-b-b-but I didn't see an area marked "left field". 'Cuz most of us seem to be coming from there. :dribble:
Yeah, and where's Confusion - our 51st State??

Have you visited Iggy's islands yet?
Are they anything like Fantasy Island..?? (Iggy says, "Smiles, everyone... Smiles!")

Its interesting the way the mapping works. The two of us from LaPine show up as about 4 miles apart and in reality we are about 100 yards apart. I assume it is the difference between the actual cordinates and just using zip code. Matters not because we will arrive in Golden at the same time. :)

Correct.

Too, I purposely altered one of the sets of coordinates so your two balloons wouldn't actually be sitting atop one another.

Why? They'll probably spend most of the time spooning in Golden, they might as well be one balloon! :)

Just kidding.......sorta. :)

Did anyone notice that MOST of us (well, the most important anyway!) are coming from California and the Pacific NW?

What's with the cheapskates..... errrr..... nice folks from the right coast?

Another Canadian has made the map..... everyone go look at huron52's balloon! (he's west of Toronto, right along Lake Huron) :D

Wait. There seems to be an omission on the map! Didn't Caba signup to attend from Eastern Europe? <_<
Caba is there.... Kosice, Slovakia

However, the rules are: it's the mileage from your home town, assuming your rode all the way to Golden, Colorado on your FJR.

We might make a water-borne exception for, say, a ferry ride across the Mississippi River, but not a trans-Atlantic shipping of your bike

Oh Man!!! Now it's my turn to pout!!! :cray:

Like Gypsy said, I guess I'm just too much of a slacker to ride there from home. :lazy:

And the Avons ain't THAT good in the water! Just getting to go is a good enough prize for me. :yahoo:

However, if you scroll over on the map to my baloon and zoom in you can get an Idea of route 547 (leaves from my front door) and a little further east to 533, you can see some of the roads I get to play on here!

And the local police just got 5 new FJR's to try to catch the sportbikes. Pretty cool!

See Y'all there!

Hmmmm... wonder why I'm not showing up... could have sworn I was on there the other day.... pretty sure I put in my GPS coordinates when I registered. My zip is the same as FJRMGM's... 77546

maybe even hum a little song,

as my bike is washed by Toe's wife
You know, there comes a point (though I sure don't want to set it) when a line of respect gets crossed. I believe I'd be a bit careful exactly how I described another member of this forum, married or not, male or female. There is a lot of "good natured" kidding that goes on between many of us who have actually met one another and ride together a couple or more times a year. Some, though miles apart, still appreciate one another like long-lost family. Maybe we'd all be ahead of the game if we kept that attitude. I count Bren as a friend, maybe others should, too.
