Stella and I are reading Cesar's Way by Cesar Millan. He's good! Learning lots.
Don't worry the Westie will have you trained in no time at all! :)

I'm on my third one. Casey, Scully and Nammy should all be taken off your potential name list....they've all been well used.

Oooh! Wait till Stella gets home and see this pic.

I inadvertently left out one of my dogs! Dinah is Sark's mother. Carol and I bought her when she was a tiny Dalmation puppy. She had one brown eye and one blue eye. She was a sweet, sweet girl. Not terribly bright, but she was a fantastic mother.

One day, when Dinah was about 3 or 4 years old, a huge (I mean HUGE!) black lab, wearing a cartoony metal-studded leather collar, sauntered across our eight acres. Dinah was instantly smitten, and the two eloped. Dinah returned three days later, muddied but, obviously, very very happy. Now, this was my first ever litter of pups. What a delivery! Dinah decided to have them under an old fallen willow tree stump, in the middle of a freaking thunder/lightening/gully-washing rainstorm. Well, the space underneath that stump was filling up with rainwater, so I got down on hands and knees and literally raked (with a garden rake cause my arms weren't long enough to reach) them four pups into my arms.

All was well. I counted three boys and a girl. The days that followed were some of the happiest I ever spent there in Athens, Alabama. I spent hours and hours with Dinah and her pups. Watching, laughing, learning.

We gave three puppies away to former students. One got run over. I don't recall what happened to the other two. I kept the biggest - Sark. His death and burial is another story, for another time.

Well, I was thinkin that since you and the wife will be his servants, maybe a name like King or Prince.

But if you want to stay with the bike theme, I like Tank or Sir Tank.

He sure is a cutie, let me know if you get tired of him . . . :wubsmiley:

What happened to "odot"?.....you can simplify and just go with "dot".......easy syllable..............

Name the dog "No Te Importa." It means "none of your business." That way when someone asks your dogs name, you say, "No te importa." That should get a laugh in Cruces.

How about "Ku," pronounced "Q." As in, Ku Klux Klan. I mean, he's already wearing the hood.

Or... "JW," as in "**** Wad." Just visit any cheap motel to see what I mean. Only we'll know the real meaning.

Or... "Diablo," as I am sure he will live up to that name many, many, many times.

Or... in honor of JeffAshe, "Diablo Strada," the Devil Road.

Or...just plain "Strada."

Or..."Piaa."

Or...in honor of John Wayne, call him "Dog."

Or... "Chemo," as in Chemotherapy. (I actually had a dog named that once.)

Thanks for all your suggestions. Stella and I have yet to agree on a name. Sparky is her first choice. (I might go with Spark). I'm leaning towards Feejer.

We pick up what's-his-name at 3:40 this afternoon at the El Paso International Airport. Stella and I are both kind of tensed up so we're going for a ride early this morning to clear our heads.

This may be a bit late, but if I ever decide to replace my last dog (Brittany, aptly named Pookie) I decided it's name would be Hairy. Ahh...well...may be an envy thing, as I don't have much......... <_<

OOPS...

Cool pup! He looks like it is worth every penny.

How about:

"FM" - for "fast mover". Westies are quite quick I understand.

"Slider" is a cool name. I like it.

How about "Groove" for how "Stella got her groove back".

"bagger".

"Noogie". He has a great doo for a noogie.

"Bullitt" like the movie with one of the greatest chase scenes ever.

Let us know what name you pick and post some piccies too!

Anyway, my 2 cents.

Have fun with the new family member! :clapping:

Will post pix as soon as we get Stella's camera working. And, of course, will inform you of what's-his-name's name. (Yesterday I thought of the name Grip.)

God! Yesterday was a lonnnnng day! Never got on the bike cause I was setting up the house all morning for what's-his-name's entrance. Uneventful pick-up at airport. Took him to a nearby park, let him out of the crate. Hadn't touched his food (food and water attached to inside of crate). Gave him fresh water, walked around a bit. He's tinier than I expected. Roly poly white fluffy thing. Stella was concerned (at first) that one ear is flopped down, whereas in his picture both ears are erect. I suspect this is from the stress of the trip. After ten minutes with the dog Stella said she didn't care anymore whether the ear was erect or not. The bond had formed. (I, however, plan to ask for a rebate of hundreds of dollars if said ear fails to salute in the next week or two. Taking him to the vet's Mon. or Tues. for general health check. He may be able to enlighten me concerning the ear.) Followed us everywhere. Ate some grass. Stella held him in her lap on the drive home.

First thing he did when introduced to his indoor exercise pen (16-ft circumference located twixt kitchen and living room) was to inspect the dog litter pan filled with tasty-looking Purina dog litter, which, after a two-second sniff test, began eating. I quickly pulled him away and fed him some puppy food. Poor guy was starved cause he hadn't eaten for who knows how long.

While I drove back to Petsmart for even more supplies, Stella walked what's-his-name around the back yard. Puppy seemed interested in the pool. And my herbs. And the stones. And the ants. And the ... .

We all went to bed around nine last night. Puppy was still sleeping when I got up at 4:30. Stella got up at 5 and is now walking his little butt outside.

Today, by golly, I'm going riding!
