Eslick didn't actually knock anybody down, despite trying, did he?
He knocked Herrin down at Barber last year. I thought something should have been done with Eslick for his riding in that race, and Herrin (I believe) was rightfully penalized for this incident.
IT has been debated over and over and over. Some saw it as Eslick taking Herrin out. Others saw it as Herrin shutting the door on Eslick. I saw it as 2 riders going for the same piece of real estate and Eslick won. Herrin started in tight, started to drift wide, then came back in. Eslick took the opening that Herrin left, Eslick drifted out. They came together, Herrin went down. If it wasn't raining, he may not have gone down. It wasn't that big of a collision.

That's how I remember that incident, but there was also the look he made at Barber, when Eslick was looking down at the other bike (which was on the outside of the turn) rather than looking through his turn.

Some say he was watching out, some say he was aiming . . . . .

The brake lever hit that happened at Daytona reminded me very much of a similar incident in MotoGP some years ago in Spain, sent a Ducati tumbling off turn 1.
