Need a rear tire in Ely NV

Trying to get home. Got 4k+ miles on a Road Smart and its past the wear bars and fading fast. Got over 7k on the last 2 I had. :dntknw:

Can any one suggest a dealer around Ely NV that might stock something that will fit and would help get me rolling again.

I don't think it's gonna make it the 1500 miles it will take to get me home to Missouri.

Looks like they carry Suzuki and Yamaha. Otherwise, can you make it to Provo, UT: Escape Motorsports is a Yamaha, Suzuki & KTM dealership there (from google search also).

How about ordering from south west tires in AZ. and ask to expidite the shipping for you in Ely NV.

Wear bars is not critical.....cord showing is. I limped an Avon with cords showing 800 miles home at the speed limit. Tires don't fail catastrophically...they just lose air.

Limp it to Salt Lake City if the little dealer in Ely doesn't have 180/55 or 170/60 in stock. They do mount and balance because I got some wheel weights from the 2 years ago.

Having been there once, I have to say "Around Ely NV" is a bit of an oxymoron. IIRC, the KOA there has a sign stating that it's ~275 miles to the nearest Walmart. ;-)

I'm with Ignacio; if you don't have cord showing, it shouldn't be a problem to get to Salt Lake City; it's less than 300 miles.

Hey All

Home safe now ahead of the tornados thanks to a 1150 mile day yesterday (wish I would have documented it) and thanks to a new Michelin that I got from Escape Motorsports in Provo, UT.

Forest (the mechanic) had me back on the road in the time it took me to eat a bag of jerky, power bar, take a leak and make one 3 minute phone call. no kidding maybe 30 minutes tops.

Thanks for your help guys and the encouragement good to know help is there when your alone a long way from home.
