need bar riser help

I tried to install my one inch risers on my gen III today, but the large bolt is tack-welded to a metal plate, and won't come out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi fredkerr!

You must uninstall this oem plate with the large bolts on,and you must install the larger bolts that you should have with your risers..I don't know what brand is your risers,but with the genmar they give larger bolts..have a look:

Thanks! Just what I was looking for. Was afraid I'd have to remove triple-clamp, now my fears are confirmed. But, didn't want to do it without being sure.

You need to cut the wire holders around the brake and clutch lines on the triple clamp before you remove it. A cheap pair of bolt cutters will work.
