Hello everybody.

I'm looking for the rear and front cast wheet to FJR 2008.

In my bike I found that somebody change the wheels from 2008 to 2007 in result ABS doesn't work, and speedometer also... ****'n motherfuckers.

I bought the bike last year in winter so I didn't check if speedo works correctly.

The 2006/2007 fit but of the ABS rotor design is different (and rotor+cast wheel is one part) also ABS sensor and ABS sensor housing.

Somebody can check the price in US dealer because in Europe is really expensive.

Thanks for any help.

Well, I guess that answers the questions on your other threads.

Yeah, that sucks.

So, to understand this, you bought your bike used and someone had previously switched your 2008 wheels for a pair of 2007 wheels and the ABS tone ring on the wheels is a different size or shape? Would it be possible to get just the ABS pickup rings and sensors rather than replace the wheels and tone rings?

You might have better luck finding those used, in an undamaged state than a set of wheels. When someone crashes a bike the wheels tend to get banged up, but the ABS sensors should fair OK.

I'll also try and find the prices for those wheels (new) for you here in the US. BTW, you've never mentioned what country you are in.

Yes Fred, It's the answer for my problems witch speedometer.

The situation is like this that I bought used bike 2008

Someone remove the the complete wheels, I mean wheels cast, ABS sensors, and abs sensor housings and put this parts from 2007. It's very simillar but not the same.

On wheel casts are complettly different rotors, and ABS sensor recive bad signal, in result ECU can't understand this signal.

In my dealer we connect ABS sensor by wires from different FJR 2008 to my FJR, and we start this dealer moto. My speedometr works correctly. That's why we discover that somethink is wrong witch rotors or sensors. So we disasamble the wheels and we know the true.

Sensors are ok, rotors are ok all is ok, but it comes from previous generation that's why it's not compatible witch ECU.

Now I asked my dealer to put only the rear wheel cast from dealer FJR to my FJR but witch my ABS sensor and sensor housing. If it works I need only the wheel cast....in no I need wheel cast ABS sensors and abs housings for two whells.

...it's a pity that there is no possibliity to buy only rotors and keep the wheel casts.

P.S

...I come from Poland

OK, the 2008 wheel part numbers are

CAST WHEEL, FRONT S8

3P6-W2516-00-P0

CAST WHEEL, REAR S8

3P6-W2533-00-P0

Zanotti's tends to have pretty good prices. They list the front at $510.80 (msrp is $659.93) and the rear at $418.19 (msrp is $540.29).

I think what would have had to happen was they swapped the wheels (to get the color change) but did not swap the ABS sensor housing or ABS sensor itself. Just the wheels, and that may have caused the incompatibility. But I could have sworn that people have successfully swapped wheels between 2007 and 2008 and not had any problems.

Maybe it is worth verifying that they got all the spacers and stuff installed correctly?

I just compared the sensor housing on the '07 parts fiche to the '08, and they are visually different, as well a having different part numbers. So I think that explains the incompatibility of the earlier wheels. I'm betting that you will just need the correct wheels.

Here's the '08: 2008 Front Wheel

And here's the '07: 2007 Front Wheel

By looking at the shape of the ABS sensor housings you should be able to figure out what they did.

Thanks, yeah I figured that out and edited my post while you were typing.

I guess that all the wheel swaps I was thinking about were between the '08 and '09 black / silver wheels.

.... ****'n motherfuckers....
While I could tell that English isn't your native language, I commend you on excellent and proper usage of profanity. I would say the same thing--what a thing to find out after you buy a bike!!!

Good use of profanity knows no economic, geographic or cultural boundaries. :D

sorry for my expresion

and also for my english...I know it's not so good,

but I was really angry when I found out that I have to put about 2500USD to buy the parts what I need.

I think everyone here understands and approves of your vocabulary in this instance just fine! I'm sure I would have said that and a whole bunch more (worse!) ;)

Sent you a PM let me know if you still need this wheel.

Hello guys,I found what I need. The rear whel cast witch correct rotor

https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...atchlink:top:en
Are you sure you need the whole wheel? And that price is high. And that looks like just the wheel, not a bunch of other needed parts.

I got this https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=280483301197 Note that this wheel/tire/rotor is only $150, but does NOT include the ABS sensor. As Richard mentioned the ABS ring/sensors are different, but are you sure the wheel itself is different? Might you be able to buy just the ABS ring and sensor for a 2008 and use them?

and no, I haven't had time to check is that 2007 rear wheel/tire/rotor I got works on my '08. other priorities at the moment.

I'm hoping the ABS ring comes off my '08 rear wheel, and slides in next to the '07 I just got as a spare.

It's pressed in. To date I've heard of nobody successfully move a ring from one rim to another and various people who gave it a look but reconsidered worrying about damaging the ring. Probably best to stick with '04 to '07 ABS rims between those years OR an '08 to '10 rims with '08+ bikes unless you're a machinist type with mad skillz.

Ah.. hm... interesting

As I got the '07 rear wheel/tire/bearings/etc just minus the ring. So it was taken off somehow, and I no visable sign of damage to the wheel area where the ring is located.

Heard of anyone trying to mate an '08 ABS ring on an '07 rear wheel? OR is that what you are waiting to hear from me in terms of what I find?

Got me curious and wondering when wife and kids will be gone long enough to pulling my rear wheel and checking this out? Hm... not sure I have the right size nut for the rear axle... time for a stop at the parts shop one night this evening on the way home....
