My '06 came slightly misassembled. The Tech who installed the mirrors managed to use 3 different fasteners in the four symmetric holes used to attach the outer edge of the dash to the bike. Also, two, or more, fasteners are missing from the inside edge of the glovebox, near the fork tube.

Can someone with an 06A describe (or better - post a pic) the four outer-most fasteners used to attach the dash? Two are in the top left and top right corners, near the windscreen. The other two are on the level part of the side fairings, right next to where the dash goes verticle. Lastly, the black plastic between the glovebox and the fork tube has three holes for fasteners. I've only got one fastener there, the other two are missing. Can you describe the fasteners you have?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey, how's your rectum feel? Because I think you got screwed. Bring it back to your dealer with a scowl on your face. If you need more info on getting the long end of the stick....click on the brokeback mountain thread thats lingering around for some odd reason. lol

Ari,

I'll take some pics this evening - I'm doing our annual Mother's Day shindig right now - so I'm a wee bit busy. In fact, if the boss lady sees me typing this, I'll probably have to wait for the swelling to subside so I can wear my helmet again. :D

Thanks. I appreciate it - especially this weekend.

Ari, here's what I've got:

I'm standing on the left side of the bike - if you look in the shadow, you can see the weld on the frame assembly. This fastener is aluminum with a nylon washer- it's basically a machine screw.

Same panel viewed towards front of bike - these fasteners are the same machine screw type, only they are black anodized.

This is the rearward most fastener of three on the vertical panel inside. This one is the same black anodized screw, however, the middle and front fasteners are the black plastic "push in the middle post" fastener. I couldn't get a pic of them.

When I picked up Wonky, one of the plastic fasteners were missing - they pulled one out of another Yamaha on the floor. My mirrors seem to be fine.

I hope this is of help to you. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Awesome pics. Thanks a lot for taking the time and effort for the photos. You grabbed all the shots I wanted. Fantastic!

It looks like at least two of the fasteners the dealer ordered for me are not the right ones. Grrr.

Thanks again. The pics will come in handy in helping the dealer to order the right stuff.

Happy moms' day to all the moms hanging out in your neck of the woods.
