Having seen and admired some of the ride reports that show the rider's route on a map, I want to do that. I'm preparing a digital scrapbook of our recent trip (and ride report, of course).

Is there some smart person out there who could point me in the right direction, how to do this?

Thanks.

one simple way is to do up the route in google maps and do a printscreen of the result and import the clipbaord into some image editing software and crop it to taste. then upload into some image sharing service and post. :clapping:

Same same if you are using Mapsource. Hit Print Sreen when you are happy with your track or your route, or more likely, shift print screen and whatever is on your desktop copies to your clipboard. Then open up something basic like PAINT in windows and hit copy. Do "save as" as a jpeg and you're in business. If you want to get more fancy, open the jpeg with a photo editer and you can crop and resize as needed.

Get a little crayon and start drawing on your computer screen. Don't stop until we all can see it! ;) :p

Hugs n' Kisses

Jill, that'll never work.

I spread my paper map out on the kitchen table.

(Don't say it, Carver!)

Mark my route with a blue highligher.

Take a picture of the map.

Upload the picture and shoot it over to Photobucket!

I hope this helps. ...'cause I want to be helpful.

It gives my life meaning.

Hi Andy!

Fixed it for ya! I use Paint for my cropping too. Just select the area you want and 'Cut' or 'Copy', select 'File' - 'New', and 'Paste' again!

Maybe it's different up here, but 'PrtScn' captures the entire desktop. Alt-PrtScn captures only the active window.
