Chocolate xlax just prior to when they will be brought into the house. Simple with a toss over to the yard where they can enjoy the new found meal. The owners will get the idea after a 2'nd or 3'rd indecent.
:lmaosmiley: LMAO dwh!! :lmaosmiley:

That's a great plan :yahoo: But, don't you know chocolate is "bad" for dawgs!! You'll have to use regular Exlax.
Nah, they usually don't go for the regular, and besides, I don't care what's bad for my neighbor's barking (or in my case, pooping) dogs.

I had a neighbor that would let his dogs out the front door (when he had a perfectly good fenced-in back yard) and they would immediately run over and take a big **** right where I would stand to open the car door. The ************ would *stand* *there* *and* *watch* them do it!

So one day I left a couple of packages of chocolate ex-lax pieces right there and they gobbled 'em all up. I had to do it twice, but then that was pretty much the end of the problem.

WOW, crappy dog owners. I was gratified to hear my neighbor say it wasn't until we had been in our house for about 8 months that he even realized we had a dog, and only then because he happened to look down into our yard while he was fixing his roof.

My boss had a neighbor with similarly "well-trained" dogs - trained to crap anywhere but their own yard, that is. He talked to the owner 3 times, then collected about a week's worth of poo and ground it into the driver's seat of the owner's car (yeah, my boss WAY crossed the line, but he never had to pick up a turd from his yard again)

As to barking dogs, ex-GF's dad had the barking rat-dogs next door. Few calls to the cops to establish the problem, then, anytime the dogs would bark, he'd launch a beer bottle over the fence (NOT AT THE DOGS). Neighbor called the cops about the beer bottles, cops reacted exactly the same way as they had about the barking dogs (wrote it down and drove away). Took about a week of cleaning up glass before the rat dogs became house dogs.

Neither idea would probably be useful with the neighborhood crazy, though. I'm liking the remote barking response unit from a few posts prior, although the website says depending on the dog, they could be ineffective.

Get a floor mop and cut the strings off. Fry up some bacon and poor the fat on the mop strings. Throw them over the fence. Dead dogs in three days.

My dad rigged a solenoid from a water valve of an old washing machine to a hose pointed at the neighbor's yard. Dog wakes him up barking, he hit a button on his nightstand, turning on the spray.

Alternative Plan:

Get their telephone number.

Whenever the dogs bark, call them and tell them their dogs are barking and woke you up. (They seem to be oblivious).

Hmmmmm, it might be better to use a prepaid cell phone.

Out here in California Code Enforcement hurts people wear it counts... in the wallet. Check the local codes for the number and types of dogs allowed in your area and just think this could be a new revenue stream for the cash strapped local goverments. God Luck

If you actually live within the city of Miami your options may be limited. First find out what your city noise ordinances are, go to your town/city hall and actually get the ordinances. This may be the show stopper right here. Keep records of the times, dates and duration of the barking. Contact your neighbors and see if they will be willing to sign a petition/complaint with you. It is important if you are a direct abutter, being a direct abutter gives you better leverage. Can you quantify any harm? Is a local real estate agent willing to write a statement that the value of the properties in the area are being reduced by$xx.xx amount solely due to the barking? Are you or your neighbors seeking medical help to sleep due to the barking? Put all this together and then go talk with your town counsel or equivalent. Often these nuisance problems will be resolved through the council and not police action. Remember that facts rule and documentation is required for effective action to take place.

As a last resort, every time the barking starts put speakers in your windows and play Barry Manilow and John Denver real loud :assassin:

I let my black lab out one night (she has a phobia for the mailman and UPS driver coming onto HER property; barks like a watchdog, but sweet as can be and has never bit anything or anybody). A diesel pickup happened to pass right then and she lit up. I let her back into the house and all seemed well. That was around midnight.

Around 2am, from a deep sleep, there's a bangin' on the front door real loud and Reggie goes berserk at the noise and the sensing of someone at the door who woke her up. I look out my bedroom window which faces the street and there's a Parish (County for all of you) Police Unit parked out front with the engine running the it's regular headlights/tail lights on. I look over to the front door and there's a uniform policewoman standing at the door beating on the frame with her night stick. Friggin' 2am. Last time this happened (only three times including this one have the police even come to the door) the neighbor across the street committed suicide stabbing himself in the heart with a kitchen steak knife, and the other time, a neighbor's teen aged daughter was seen running away from home by getting into a taxi, or if not, possibly being kidnapped by the cabbie.

I assume the worse. Well, she apoligizes for waking me (yeah, and lightly stratched the paint on the door) and says she received a complaint about my dog making noise during the night. I ask when the complaint was made and who made it. She declines to answer. I said that it's "normal" for a dog to bark at someone beating on the door in the middle of the night protecting it's territory. She seemed very uncomfortable about the whole matter, so I then said that I understand and will keep my dog quiet in the future.

That was the end of it and nothing came of it. A one time incident about a noisy dog; mine. I still have no clue who or what instigated that whole thing.

oh well...

Maybe something in here to try and humanely and civilly take care of the issue ....

We purchased something similar to this a few years back for about 30 bucks. Worked great, the dog would stop after the 1st or 2nd bark. Only problem was

the lawnmower would set it off whenever we passed by it. Even though it's not your dog, it will be well worth the money just to get the uninterrupted sleep.

Kept a lot of neighbor's happy.

I've known the girl whom cuts my hair for over 10 years. A real sweet gal who finally bought her own house about 3 years ago. About a year ago a new neighbor moved in that had a dog and it hasn't stopped barking.

She first tried to make friends with the new neighbor, but the woman isn't very social able. When she tried to talk to her about the dog, she stated "My dog doesn't bark". Excuse me?? How do you deal with that kind of rationale?

So she called the police, and since she's in a new subdivision that's in the county, there are no noise ordinances the cops can enforce. I told her to go over and pound on her front door every time the dog was barking. She was informed by the police that this would constitute harassment. But the dog barking all night doesn't....

She has a HOA, but they won't do anything because none of the other neighbors, whom have privately complained when talking to her, don't want to rock the boat.

She bought one of those devices that the dog can only hear and goes off when he starts to bark, and it worked for a few days. He got used to it and now the dog ignores it and keeps barking. She too is at wits end. She's thinking the legal route in small claims court.

There really is a problem with our society when the person pointing out someone is being an ***, gets painted the bigger ***.

Looks like you have not checked the local codes(?). Most city's have a process for filing nuisance dog complaints. I had a barking dog issue here in Seattle and the King county process puts the burden on the neighbors to run through the process and get enough evidence the dog is a nuisance. So, I started a complaint and then talked to the neighbors to see if they would sign the complaints as well. Was going to submit it and got more pissed off by the dogs that I started yelling across the fence and blowing my horn and getting my blood pressure up. This went on for a couple of months. Well, one day, I said I'm going to go talk to the dog owner. She was very cool and it stopped immediately. I think she was just clueless. In terms of your situation - sounds like this guy is a bit unstable. But I'd keep it above the law for your own safety and what ever you do - don't harm their dog. That is bad karma and could land you in jail anyway.

Good Luck.

Scott

1 pound ground beef(cheap stuff is fine)

1 cup of glycol based antifreeze.

Mix thoroughly and throw equal parts to both of the little charmers. They will slip into the endless sleep. No more barking.

Your right! no use waisting a good steak

How many of you have actually watched a poisoned or otherwise maliciously treated animal suffer and die?

I have; more than once. NOTHING should have to suffer and die like that, nothing.

Deal with the real problem (the owners). Don't punish or torture the animal.

That's like decapitating your postman for delivering junk mail. Schmart, reeeeeeal schmart.

I had this problem several times. The dogs just needed negative reinforcement. When my incocnisderate neighbors dog barked I would go out and chuck a rock at them. The first time they would be quiet for a few minutes. The second time a little longer. Eventually the dog figures out that bad things happen when he barks and the intervals between barking get very, very, long.

A pressure washer hose nozzle has a long range and would work well also. Stealthily shoot em' in the *** with a BB gun and they will think GOD is doing it.

Welllll, negative reinforcement (non-lethal) might be okay. But I agree, actual poisoning the 4-legged animal isn't the issue.

I'm guessing that being arrested for cruelty to animals wouldn't be real pleasant.

I'd say go for the ex-Lax since it's not going to kill the dogs. Plus just think of the visuals of these dogs pooing all through Crazyman's house. ROFL!
