NEP on 06 AE

Little help here... the NEP CC-3 uninstalled has an inside diameter of just over an inch (1.035") at maximum opening.

The '06 AE has a 1.25" diameter throttle sleeve...

I can't get the NEP top piece to be installed (won't close enough do to the diameter size mismatch possibly)

Is the sleeve larger on the AE (due to the factory heated grips)?

Did I get a non-CC-3 in a CC-3 bag? is there something blatently obvious that I'm missing here?

Edit: NEP CC-3 Does NOT work easily on an '06 AE.

So far: enlarged hole to 1.30" (originally 1") works ok for diameter (remove some, try, remove some, try until i got it)

removed moved side ribs, sanded thinner to .090" (was .100")

bottom interferes with additional throttle position housing on the throttle cable assembly, puts a bend in the bottom hinge (won't work). Rotated assembly to hinges horizontal (making the lock lever very low for the thumb. now it works -- but need to find a way to arrest the hinge (can't tie-wrap, or screw it in)

very close to junking it, and getting a throttlemeister.

Wow. Maybe I'm the only one but I'm not sure what you are talking about. Because of your reference to the Throttlemeister I would guess that you are talking about a cruise control right? Pictures might help. I'm always interested to learn a little more about farkles on the FJR.

NEP CC-3 "Cruise Control" is a throttle lock. Fred posted some nice pics installing on an '06 A model: Clicky

kinda a bump--- but has anyone found a throttle lock (other than throttlemeister) that will work on an 06 AE model? Neither the NEP or vista cruise will work due to the change to the throttle cable housing.

I could adapt these throttle locks to the throttle cable housing, but what about the 2 wires sticking out of the inside edge of the heated grips? Can't see how you could even begin to get anything other than the throttlemeister to work.

I tried putting the NEP on my '06A which has heated grips and couldn't get it to work without interfering with the cable. I'm not sure about the throttlemeister on the Yami heated grips but there seemed to be an awful lot of people on another site complaining about the throttlemeister screwing up the heated grips on their BMW's. If anyone is looking for a preground down NEP, send me a pm.
