About a week ago, I read about a networked DVD player that connected to a home network (mac or windows) and was able to browse and play your videos. Since then, I have found several online, but none that do what I am hoping to do. I'm hoping you can help!

I have a hard wired network in my home (well, I will when I finally move back in) with a network connection at every 3rd outlet. I will also have just over a terabyte of storage on the server. I would like to put all of our video files, home DVD's, etc, on the server and then access them via the networked device at both the family room TV and the master bedroom TV.

I have seen the GoVideo player, but it does not play ripped DVDs (not even legally ripped ones). This is specifically what I want to be able to do. Any one know how I can do this?

I don't guess I understand what you are attempting to do.

On my home network wired and wireless, I have ripped copies to my central hard drive acessed by all other machines and can play from anything on my network. I have 6 computers. I have not attempted to play through my plasma, but it would if I hooked it up via, either rca,s-video, or regular computer monitor cables.

That is exactly what I am trying to do. Except, I don't want to do it using a computer. My server is 60 wired feet from my closest TV and I don't want to have to hook up a computer next to each TV just to watch video from my server.

The Sling Box is something i have been looking into for a while... I am not sure if this is what your looking for, But it's pretty damned cool if you ask me!

I have a wireless 2.4ghz transmitter/reciever setup as well, Its good for about 30 ft before major signal deterioration. I paid $50 per set (trans and rec) and use it to broadcast my home security camera broadcast to pic/in pic on some TV's, I also use it to send premium chanels to TVs without the decoaderbox. It uses RCA cables. and has 4 diff chanels to select.

I'll search for a link....

similar to these

I'll keep searching for mine
