Picked her up Friday evening :yahoo: . Trailered her home, slept and when I got up, it was like watching labor - giving birth. Trying to work pics, don't know how to add as all my picks are on FB. So... from the crate to trailer, to home, 0 miles showing. Another walk-around under different light, no problems. Since I ride an M109 sport cruiser, I figured a longer adjustment - Nope. Surprisingly it was no time at all. Brakes crisp, a lil tall in the saddle, smooth ride, acceleration... just smooth :yahoo: .

100mi and 98* later (yes, only 100), gr8 purchase.

Thanks for all the pointers, support and postings. More to come. ;)

Well she's doing well. Haven't put many miles on her yet due to work and my son's graduation. Just luv her :yahoo: :yahoo:

Congrats on your bike! Sorry I'm getting in the game so late, just saw this thread. Where are you located in SA? I live in Cibolo and bought my 2009 FJR from Woods Cycle as well. PM sometime and maybe we can go hit the Hill Country one day. Congrats again on the bike, hopefully they cut you some slack on the price at Woods if that is where you settled at.

Will do and thanks Travis. Yes, I'm in SATX. ;)

Very nice. Did you get the dealer down on the price any before you boought? Love the blue. My dealership had one on the floor this last weekend and I almost asked the salesman I know what he would give me in trade for my 08. Didn't do it. Probably a good thing.

Others here know a lot more than I do, but... That '09 is way over priced (by thousands) The '12 otd is a little high but not by much (hundreds). I'd go with the '12.

Speaking of which, I did just that several weeks ago. I'm 5'6", 29" inseam. Yes, I'm on my toes (unless I have a pillion for ballast) but at 1000 miles I'm pretty comfortable with it. I am just careful to watch where I stop and where I'll put my feet.

I have the same problem. I am 5'6" also and I just got an '05 and I am almost on my toes also. someone at work said I should get platform shoes. I wish the bike could be lowered a bit.

Check out Kouba Links. Lowered mine 7/8" and love it. ;)

I ordered a set a couple of days ago myself. Only $80. I'm looking forward to trying them out!

I've read several threads showing options to lower the bike. One rider supplied 3 step-by-step options including pics: seat, lowering bones, etc. I think I'll continue to "muscle" the bike a lil while longer as once I get going it's really not a problem. When I had my FJ1200 and Kawi ZZR1200, I had the same problem (height vs tip-toe). :p

At least I don't have to hop-off the bike, then it would be a (safety) issue. I've also read many threads about the lowering bones. Maybe I'll look into the options later after I break her in and put some miles on it.

Congrats on the new bike...
Thanks Jeff ;)

I've read about it and the opinions on whether to lower the front forks (when using the lowering bones). Please, keep me (us) in the loop on this and what you did rooster.

I know you're enjoying breaking her in! :) I'm looking at doing the 4k miles service in a couple of weeks.

I'll be installing the Kouba links next week. After gently setting her down on the left side -twice- I'm ready to lower her a little ;)

Remember, before and after pics ;) .

I'm sure the 600mi lube service will come upon you so quickly.

ENJOY, Sweet ride!
Thanks Top Speed
