Is this NERPT yet? LOL

Just buy a 15 for 10K swap out the slipper clutch, buy the chrome piece, scratch the serial numbers off, and tell everyone it is a 2017. DONE!
How are you going to explain no 6th gear and LED lights?
no.gif
Gen 3.75 model. Very rare, expensive, exclusive, desireable, unique, and NO one needs 6th gear or LEDs. Frivolous and just breaks easier.

Joe, those are inconsequential details. Black, Graphite, Raven, all the same. They all matter the same amount as Marty said!!

Plus, the rarity will blind the critics immediately!

You guys are screwing up my plan! Knock it off.

Well, as much as people have really liked the 16s...the 17s should do well.

...unless we are rubes for not clamoring for a 7th gear.

Sounds like one of the elusive French FJRs.

If they do discontinue the "A" model with the new year, that would be the story of the year. While I do love my 2014 ES, I also think having the choice of ES or A was a big bonus for the FJR machine in '14, '15 and '16. Forcing people into the ES world would be a major marketing mistake IMO.

I agree Fred, some of us would rather save the money for farkles. My V-Star was raven black and I loved the color. Lots and lots of compliments (most people thinking it was a Harley

). Looks like I can set my sights on one after the biggest part of depreciation has hit in 5 years.

OFace, you're too funny!!!!

Then NTX made me spit my drink across the room.

Fred sometimes I don't agree with you, but I do agree on this. I tend to keep my rides a long time, I have two Ohlins for the rear and two full GP fronts that I can rebuild. I don't really need all of the electrics, and the cost of maintaining them I would bet is not going to be cheap.

Of course by the time I wear out the inferior 07 I'll be dust so it doesn't matter. If I do need another one (FJR) I'll by a low mile 16 and paint it Black Cherry. :)

Post #48 For those unimpressed with the lack of changes.......what were you hoping for?

For years the mother ship has been describing under passenger comfort....."a plush seat designed for rider and passenger".

I was hoping that would become a reality so I can eliminate my FJR Butt.

Y'all illiterate morons; it's NOT black, it's RAVEN. Just like my badass '15 isn't BLACK or RAVEN, but LIQUID GRAPHITE.
Sheeeesh.

And I don't need no stinkin' 6th gear. My bike will do 75 on cruise control in 4th gear for hours ... until I realize it and shift up.

Hahaahaaha!!! So I'm not the only one!!! I love that cruise control!

I was wishing for Black Cherry for the '17 model. I told me wife that I would sell my brand new 2015 and get the 2017 if it was Black Cherry. The Raven color will not make me jump.

I'm wondering if everyday schmucks can order a 2017 FJR1300P. Those are still A models, and if you're planning on painting it anyway because you're not a fan of white, you can eBay the lights and flashers to get some money back, etc. etc.

How much are they compared to the showroom models?

The 2017 "A" model is still listed on the Canadian Website. They also list the ES in matte silver and black. In recent years, Yamaha Canada has offered different colors from Yamaha USA but not different models - until now, perhaps. I assume there are still differences with the immobilizer etc. I would like to see that matte silver in person - don't know whether I would like it or not.
