I have it all saved. Managed to work up a system for refining the track logs from the GPS, and then creating routes without too many points. It took some finesse, but I have a route. Even managed to hang on to Jim's little run up and back on a short stretch of whoopdeedoo road. Ya'll know what whoopdeedoos are... don't ya?

Uh Er Uh OOPS, but in our exuberance, we kind veered way off course the second half of the run (after Herdon Mtn) and then we picked it up again at Shady Spring (after our short slab around the big city) and then wandered off again when we detoured to my place. How much trouble will it cause to alter the route as soon as I figure out how to get you the rest of the info?

Not a problem. I already took out the detour to your house, the wrong turn I made on 97, but I left in the multiple passes on 10! :)

I will probably have to rebuild the route in Streets&Trips to get a decent printable map. Just get it to me soon so that I can post all the routes on the web site. I want to avoid any revisions to the routes once they are posted.

OK, y'all heard Mr. Ashe. Now jump over to this thread and get in on the scouting.

Hey Jay, you listening; it was after all your idea!

Well if I recall...Jim did a pretty good "back seat" picture hisself a few weeks past  ...now where is that thread...
GASP!!! Jim was ridin' bitch?
I don't think that was the type of "back seat" picture Mark was talking about.

How soon we forget. :)

Thanks Tom! I knew exactly what Mark was referring too, but I was trying to stay beneath Heidi's radar on that round. Why do I get the feeling my head...er...butt might well be on the chopping block at EOM?

Ya'll had me thinkin' that Jim was riding bitch or sumthin'. Now, that's a relief... it was all about a pic of my ass.

Remember Dave, the camera adds 10 lbs. My butt's really not that big... well uhhh, almost not that big.

And thanks to everyone for being so kind.

There is a lil' ol' lunch called "revenge" best devoured w/ a beer chaser.

Man! Am I glad my lunch had time to settle before reading this thread!

:)

If my youngest is up for some camping time, we just might try to make it this weekend. Ya'll will have to give me a headstart, being two-up and all, especially with the little one onboard.

Heidi,

Ya, I was a whining, wasn't I? But the knee is better now, not 100% but about 92% and the birthdays are all over and my youngest turned 7 and boy that birthday cake was yummy, could have added another pound or two to that photo of you there. Hey, I notice in that picture there are two shots being taken from the front, WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? ARE THESE PICTS BEING HELD FOR EOM BLACKMAIL-AGE?

Jim,

Ya man those roads look good! I am sure that Heidi has told you about (more like laughing at) me buying new camping gear and I have only used it in the back yard so far. I am leaving for NAFO on the 19th and will be back on the 29 or 30th. Then I am back to work in August but I can slip out a day or two for a long weekend if youra thinking about it? Are you folks talking about camping this weekend?

Jeff,

These folks just don't know the thrill of dual-sporting on an FJR, do they?? I once rode over the back side of Spruce Knob, WV all the way down to 28/92/250 junction at Thornwood, thats about 27 miles of gravel and gnarly rocks. Passed a couple of R1200GS's and they near about broke their necks and ran off the road looking at me over their shoulders. I wish I had a camera for that one.

Whaaaa... me do something like that??? Nooo Wayyy! Ok, I'm lying... we were laughing at you.

If next weekend is looking good weather-wise, I might be able to head out yonda'.

Thanks to this little off-road adventure with Jeff last year, my wife has now decided that I, in fact, do not need a dual sport (GS/VStrom/KLR) to go to Alaska. Thanks Jeff.

When you say FJR adventuring. Is this what you have in mind?
