Thanks, in part, to so many of you and the great advice given here, I'm the proud new owner of a 2007 FJR:

Bought it this AM, delivery comes any minute now. Weather's sunny and 75 degrees where I live (Charlotte, NC). So I'm taking off bit early for some time on the new ride!

Thanks again for all the good info here.

John

Nice work man - congrats! Ride slow, ride safe - enjoy the great day out there... We're getting a heaping pile of liquid sunshine here in the Seattle area - go figure... :)

John,That's a good price. I also have an '07. I'm sure you are aware of the recalls for that model. Have fun!

Thanks. I actually got the bike for a little less, after some friendly arm twisting. And no, I don't know of the recalls or even how to find out if they've been done. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction?

Thanks again.

Welcome John. I took a ride to NC in October. Beautiful part of the world (and nice temps!)

Congrats on the new scoot. You will find it makes a marvelous long distance touring platform. Time to plan that trip to Montana - Glacier and Yellowstone Parks – or British Columbia, Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Wyoming... Damn! So many places to ride, so little time.

Enjoy!

Thanks, Dave. I do remember reading the very informative "Bin 'O Facts," as I researched the FJR. Recalls don't seen very major, but I'll have my tech check for them. Not planning a trek to the rockies anytime soon, so the high altitude recall wouldn't affect me, anyway!

John,

Enjoy your FJR, I also have a 2007 and I'm totally in love with it, my wife is jelous, I'd rather ride my FJR! :D

reading these threads and clicky options I saw the term "saddle bag body color caps" I bought an '07 on ebays with 3200 miles on the clock. It came with bag liners and tool kit. What are the body color caps?

The body color caps plug the holes where the bags fit. The ECU will work fine as long as you keep the throttle moving a bit as you go up into the mountains. Otherwise it may hesitate a bit. When it 1st happened to me I just pulled over and turned the key off then restarted and off we went. After some nice forum member told me to just work that throttle a bit I never had a problem. Also if the throttle is a little tight for your liking there is a nice article with pictures and instruction for loosening up the throttle return spring and add a G2 throttle tube. For now ride and enjoy and keep reading all the great info on your new baby.

Congrats :yahoo:
