NEW IDEA?

Hey guys,

I have what I think is a good idea to improve visibility especially through intersections. I would try this myself except I am to busy, and have no money right now

Knowing that there are receptacles in the corners of our headlight enclosures for eurepean bikes, I though it would be a great idea to insert those car-show strobe lights in there. Then, mount a momentary push button switch on the back side of the windscreen/signal/horn switch enclosure to activate it only while you were pushing the button.

That way when you see that car up ahead with his left turn blinker on you *might* be able to get his attention with the strobes.

What do you guys think?

I think front-facing strobes are illegal in most places as they are used by emergency vehicles to trip green light sensors in intersections so equipped.

Yup. You'd get more attention, but probably end up wishing you hadn't.

yeah..I think it's illegal for the average joe. It sounds like a cool light show,though. Could be misinterpreted for , "You can go now".

Well, I wonder what an officer would do after you explain why they are there and what they are being used for. It's not like they would be used while driving down the road for 10 miles... I'm guessing 3 seconds at a time.

He'd prolly do the same thing he'd do after you 'splained why you just wheelied past that group of Junior High cheerleaders...cuff you and ease your head under the door frame of his patrol unit.

I bought an inexpensive set of road lamps that had the driving light, blue ring and a strobe, blue and strobe couldn't be used together.

Would be great for fog riding etc. B)

BTW returned them now no aux lights just the wings waiting for another pair :assassin:

I've never been a fan of anything that would make the headlight flash, not that it wouldnt get someones attention but being a truck driver I find people will flash their lights to let you know you can turn and I just feel that if someone see's your headlight flash they may think your letting them turn in front of you. JMHO
