To those who've never been to a Canadian dragstrip: Everyone hates snowmobiles.
Take a 300, 400 or 500lb machine (who cares), stick-in 100, 200 or 300 hp and for traction, give it a contact patch 18" wide and 24-30" long.... you get the point. They require zero skill (besides timing) to pull a 9 second quarter mile (with a driver who's on beer # 8). Squeeze your thumb and point down the track. So while they are admittedly hilarious to watch, they're dubbed 'snowblowers' and hated by all us god-fearing, clutch-wrangling bike riders, who actually have to WORK at successfully launching our rides in a straight line.
September 28, 2009:
On a runway at Val D'or airport, the Lamtrac G-force team pushed their Yamaha snowblower to 340.2 kph.
you can actually see the snowblower between the 10th & 11th second in this one clip clicky
