Just got back from a ride-in appointment at Russell. I must say the seat is as good as advertised. With the stocker I'd start to feel the burn after about 200 miles. With the Russell, I did a couple of 500 - 600 mile days with no discomfort on the arse.

The experience could not have been better. Great people to work with. My only regret is I wish I had sprung for the leather, as I can see a potential for the vinyl to cause some heat issues.

Went with the two-tone. They had a red color that matches the black cherry paint fairly well.

:yahoo: NOW their "ride in" appointment count will show a sudden jump! :yahoo:

Sooo, pilgrim, you've discovered what we who own Russell Day Long saddles have been saying all along. Isn't it amazing to ride in with a sore posterior and riding home discover that it is healing because there are no more "hot spots".

Congratulations! :clapping:

MM2 are you insinuating that you suffer from soft little girlie bum? ..... .....

That looks nice! I like it :clapping:

Now you're gonna get me to thinking I need to get one of those too, and spend a bunch of coin I don't have on a ride in. :dribble:

Is that the mini rack w/ backrest by garauld?

Seats look nice and comfy! How much for them both if ya don't mind me asking?

Ok how much? :dribble:
$618.00 with the heavy weight upgrade and $80.00 ride in charge. For me, it is money well spent.

It is indeed Gerauld's rack/backrest combo. It was $284.00 and well worth it. The seat was $618.00

Mine is scheduled for Aug 27th. Total cost is $578, and thats for a pretty basic seat, vinyl, just recover the passenger seat to match. While I like leather, the extra cost and susceptibility to weather etc can't be justified.

Just bought mine off eBay to help Warchild get his name in the record books.I got his old silver saddle to match my 04.Real curious as to if it is all they everyone says it is.I usually get Corbin but the break in on a Corbin seems like an eternity

Vinyl is easier to keep and when wearing riding pants you can't tell the difference between vinyl and leather. Plus the cost and care factor vinyl is a plus.

Dont be sorry about not getting leather. I had a Corbin years ago in leather on a BMW1100RT. If I did not oil it every 2 days it would get slick as hell. You have no butt control. Very slippery.

Just called .If i put my order in today . i will recive the seat the first WEEK IN SEPTEMBER . Are they for real .

Just got off the phone myself and the first ride-in slots are in the last week of Sept.

I took the 27th. Just in time for my 1100 mile loop to Death Valley the first weekend in Oct.

The red insert looks good...among other things

They are a small family run operation with attention to detail. The son of the owner is the guy that built my seat. The cute receptionist is his wife. They have a couple of older ladies that do the covers and maybe two or three other seat builders. The back-log should tell you they make a damn fine seat. I scheduled my ride-in appointment back in March. I'm sure the winters are a little less busy. I know for me it was well worth the wait.
