Yes, Wheattie was at NAFO in Golden. He's the guy who had the foam earplug pushed all the way in until they almost blocked his vision. :p

Please realize, the NAFO meet is going to need to fit a little different criteria than our normal regional meet.

If memory serves, many said the same thing about Lewisburg.

A little research just might reveal that Snowshoe to be more suitable than a cursory glance has led you to believe.

There just may be a possibility, however remote, that you may be missin' the boat on this one....but yes, I will go to the corner and be forever quiet now.
A correction on my part. I have been speaking of Canaan Valley & not Snowshoe. My mistake. I've spent time at Canaan & it is exactly what I've written.

I've not done any research on Snowshoe.

I knew the Brier Inn in Lewisburg would be perfect as soon as you showed it to me & knew that folks would be word munching after the meet. Brier Inn was certainly a good find on your part, Jim.

I think that folks were afraid of hearing banjoes (not played by Ralph Stanley's band) & that's why there was much dissention about Lewisburg at first. Now see! We can't keep the folks away.

Good thing that we were the decision-makers in '07, huh?

Just to show you all that Snowshoe may be something to consider, here's a link to a motorcycle rally that is held there in July every year. Snowshoe Freedom fest link They also hold a huge 3 day mountain bike race every year. I've never been there, but I hear it is a huge place and has lots to offer.

What's wrong with using the Brier Inn and the hotel behind there? Should be more than enough rooms.

I'm looking forward to attending my first EOM this coming year, so make sure you pick out a good spot. I want to revisit some places from my youth along the way, so unless something gets in the way between now and then, I'll be there regardless of the location. Doubtful it will be any longer of a ride to the meeting than Houston to Reno was for WFO...

Hey Groo!!

I hope you do attend. It would be good to see you out east. At least I'm guessing it would be, based on it being a pleasure meeting you at WFO in Reno and again at NAFO in Golden.

Best,

This is a post about when, so I would vote for EOM to be before school starts so Sally (high school teacher) can come along without losing days. But I will go along with whatever we decide, of course.

So, OK, jwilly, WHERE??

You do realize that it isn't even New years yet, right? Or... barely more than 3 months since the last meet? "Patiently waiting", my patootey. ;)

Please allow the organizer a chance to organize. This meet is a huge amount of months off... that is if he decides that it'll be next September.

Good to see some activity in this area, but please don't push. The organizer is investing his own personal time to make this happen for all & not on any one person's schedule.

Gimme back my binkies!

Put 'em back where they belong

Ain't foolin' around 'cause I done had my fun

Ain't gonna see no more damage done

Gimme back my binkies!

Sorry if this make absolutely no sense to anyone else.

Heidi gets it.

Some of us have to schedule vacations in January for the whole year.

Unlike gov. workers who can take a week off with one days notice,

and nobody notices they're gone!

OMG! Damn right I do Jim!

Oh and Fred? Please no bellyaching about January & whatnot. #1 - it isn't January & #2 - you did have a chance to make EOM when you wanted it to happen & decided not to do anything about it back when. Not giving you crap about it... but it is what it is... this goes for all of us, when someone else is doing the work, you're going to need to settle with what they come up with.

Tom, you have mistaken stating facts & truth as kicking? Dude, I'm sure that reading comprehension classes are offered in Ohio. ;)

Happy birthday Fred
